From Rotoworld (August 12th) Astros signed Mitch Meluskey to a minor league contract. Meluskey comes full-circle to the place he started. He will report to Double-A Round Rock today after hitting .359 with two home runs and 34 RBI over 63 combined games with Nashua and Somerset of the independent Atlantic League. If Meluskey hits well at Round Rock, the Astros are considering adding him for the stretch run as a bat off the bench when rosters expand.
Yeah, this was posted last week or so. Wonder if he'll slug the new Pornstache like he did the last one.
Good, even if Meluskey can't play D, we can put him at first base and trade that bum Bagwell to the Yankees or something.
scott elarton was the only pitcher to do good that season, and that was because eusebio was his regular catcher, just like zaun is with robertson.
Melusky's defense was the worst defense I've ever seen from a major league catcher. Every time someone tried to steal on him, they ended up at 3rd because he always threw the ball into the outfield. Yes, he can hit, but there is no way you want him behind the plate.
Are you saying that the only pitcher that is good this season is Robertson, and that is because Zaun is his catcher, not Ausmus? Or are you saying that a pitcher has one particular catcher and citing the example of Zaun & Robertson?
