Hey all, I've mentioned before I'm moving from Houston at the end of the month and some people have expressed interest in getting a beer before I go. I'm thinking next Tuesday, happy hour. If people who are bothered by smoke want to come (Jeffs, you are invited), we could do it at The Harp on Richmond. It doesn't get too smoky inside and also there's a large outdoor area. If not, maybe Rudyards Pub (which is my usual joint). So far heypartner, Refman, glynch and several others have said they'd try and make it. RSVP here and let me know your thoughts on The Harp vs. Rudz. Everyone's invited. I've enjoyed meeting the ones of you on the board I've met and would love to meet the rest. Skate tough or die y'all, Batman
Im in. Didn't get a chance to talk to you at the Smeg game so I'd enjoy this opportunity. I would prefer the less smokey environment.
Glad you guys can make it. I'm guessing no one prefers a MORE smoky environment, so why don't we just say The Harp (on Richmond, between Mandell and Dunlavy) at 6 on Tuesday. And keep the RSVPs coming.
I hope to be able to come. I am real busy at work right now but if I can get off Tuesday night I will try to make it.
I could go...but if too many people rsvp I might not. By "next Tuesday" do you mean the one in five days or the one after that one?
Buck: Awesome. rimmy: Tuesday the 19th. If too many people show up, introduce yourself as Verlaine and say you're a lurker that loves his wife and doesn't even think about rimbaud anymore. I'm expecting you to be there. JBII: Contrary to popular opinion, I couldn't care less about political beliefs when it comes to drinking with friends. If someone starts talking about it and I'm well into my cups, I'll jump in. Otherwise, I'd just as soon not. I hope you'll be there. I hope Trader_Jorge will too, if that's any indication. Grouper: Get off work and come. Would be great to see you there. glynch: Glad of it. The patio at the Harp faces the street. Bring protest signs if you like. RM95: Drag. When are you moving here? Maybe a road trip's in order.
They are and so are you (if you can make it out from the cowardly country of Germany) and I hope they'll come.
Not moving anywhere particular yet. Been in the same place for twelve years and I've got the wanderlust. I'm supposed to direct a play in Atlanta at the end of the year, so I'll start by heading there for meetings. Probably spend the first night in Austin with friends, next night in New Orleans with drinks, then to Atlanta for a few days. From there to Chapel Hill, NC to see what's up with a new and exciting love interest (and maybe lunch with giddyup if we can work it out). After that, maybe to Pittsburgh and surrounding areas to hang out with friends who run a dance theater company or maybe to NYC for a week or two -- don't have that part worked out yet. Then back to Atlanta to rehearse the play which opens January 9. Any ATL types on the board? After the play, no plans yet though there could maybe be something brewing in Hollywood. Feels good not to know too much more than that for right now. For money I'm also doing a technical writing gig (couldn't be too much more boring) from the road. That's all I know so far.
Dude, you're gonna feel that way anyway. I think rimbaud'll come, but if not maybe we can talk T_J into it. Would you feel comfortable then?
