Lucky Palace is really good. Although it looks like a Chinese buffet from the name it is actually a really really good Korean restaurant. The BBQ is the closest to being in Korea. But the service sometimes is kinda slow. But other than that it is worth a try.
Is Long Point and Gessner close enough to I-10 and Beltway? All the good Korean restaurants are there.
Yes, it is pretty close to I-10 and Beltway. Had some good Korean food in that area just cant remember the names.
This. All of the Korean places seem overpriced for what you get. Good food but priced out of its range IMO. We really do need an all you can eat Korean place and yes, California does have some great Korean joints. The Korean population is so big over there, just doesnt seem like that many in Houston.
It's pricey because of all the side dishes and the quality of the meat. Korea House has an all you can eat BBQ option but it's pricey (I think ~$40) If you've never tried Korean BBQ and like meat, go to Korea House. If you don't want to spend that much and want to try some non-BBQ options go to Korea Noodle House. Their kimchi is soooo good. If you want to have the most variety and therefore the most choices, go to Tree Garden. Haha sorry for not narrowing it down.
Seoul Garden forever and always for me. At times I've had some really slow service throughout the decade I've eaten there... pissed me off... and I still come crawling back.
Since everyone in this thread is Korean except me, could yall give me a quick short description of some of your favorite dishes (especially meat & sides)?
Although already mentioned, Seoul Garden on Long Point & Blalock is my fav. Tofu Garden on Bellaire and Corporate Dr is probably the best bang for the buck (good and relatively inexpensive) For something quick, I generally go to H-Mart on Blalock and Westview and hit up their cafeteria
1. kpsta just burned this thread down. Thread is now over. 2. chow_yun_fat really needs to give me vivi's number.
Any restaurant with the name "restaurant" or "garden" or "palace" in the name...is probably selling you something they would not eat On the other hand ....I do enjoy Korea Garden. I am perfectly ok with the cognitive dissonance of saying one thing and having real life show something different. http://www.koreagardenhouston.com/
I tried Korean Noodle House and it was good. The amount of meat you get for the price point is lacking, but other than that the bulgogi rice bowl was delicious. The seafood pancake was okay. I wouldn't recommend it unless you love eating that type of dish.
burger tex 2 in austin is by far my favorite korean restaurant (korean bbq) wish they could expand in houston...
seriously? Although good, I wouldn't consider it Korean. Austin doesn't have any great Korean places though I do like Korea Grill a lot because the owners are so nice and I get good service there compared to most Asian place.
