Not surprised at what just happened after the lead off double.

Should have been a 4 pitch walk to carter. Then should have been 3-1 on Jake. I normally have gameday open while I watch so I can see if the call was right or not, and so far the Astros are hurt more than they are helped by the umpires.

Justification for the attempted steal of home.

AND that's why we steal home against this pitcher...

Team still refuses to manufacture runs. Not sure if this is Hinch or if they players simply don't know fundamentals, but these big home run swings with runners in scoring position and less than two outs is silly and downright arrogant against pitchers like Kershaw.

They Astros will continue to pay against good pitching and in close games until guys start laying down bunts and trying to make contact to move runners over.

I know right, how come we can't hit this scrub Kershaw. He just throws garbage. You would think he's a Cy Young winner or something.

But Gattis would have still doubled, right?

It's a flaw of how this team has been built. Bunch of all or nothing, below average hitters. This is the only way this team can score most of the time is swing from the heels and hope for the best.

We have gotten hits off him, we just refuse to lay down a bunt or do anything except aim for the fences. Runner on second, nobody out should lead to a run more times than not, and bunting Gattis over means Carter just has to hit a fly ball or a slow ground ball.

and McCullers basically went toe to toe with him. Regardless of the outcome today, that's a guy I want pitching in the playoffs.

Well when the ump calls ball four strikes then you tend to swing at anything that appears like its gonna be close.

This is just an illusion. He is hitting .222 for the month. Take away the 3-4 night and he's at .156. He was 0-12 heading into that at bat.
