Key is that Lawson is likely to miss a portion of s season, so that's the only reason there's a doubt who's going to be starter. If Lawson was like any other player he'd be starter no doubt. And he will be eventually, but if Rockets get a good start with Bev starting while Lawson is out, Patrick is likely to continue to start as long team does well.

The real answer is that it doesn't matter who starts and who comes off the bench. One of Lawson/Harden will always be on he floor, and both will play a minimum of 30 minutes. That means they will play at least 12 minutes per game together, but more likely 15-16.

If Lawson starts, then the minutes rotation probably looks like this:

    1st/3rd
12 to 8 - Harden and Lawson In
8 to 3 - Harden and Beverley In, Lawson Out
3 to 0 - Lawson and Beverley In, Harden Out

    2nd/4th
12 to 8 - Lawson and Thornton/McDaniels In, Beverley and Harden Out
8 to 3 - Harden and Beverley In, Lawson Out
3 to 0 - Lawson and Harden In, Beverley Out

    Harden - 34 MPG
    Lawson - 28 MPG
    Beverley - 26 MPG

Thornton and McDaniels will get more than 8 MPG combined when we go small, which should be for 10-15 minutes per game.

He's not, I doubt he's missing more than 3 games one of which we wont have Dwight howard. Lawson is a gamer, he'll be all right. And even during suspension you can play during the preseason. /Bottom line Harden asked for backcourt help. His help came in a guy that averaged thris most assists in the NBA last year. Pat and Thornton can handle that bench unit if McHale cant stagger the minutes. Which some people here are ignoring as an option. TY LAWSON IS A BORDERLINE ALL STAR AND DOESN'T NEED TO BE ON ANYONES BENCH. WE asked for a legit PG and wew have one. Lawson is better than anyone we've asked for outside of (HEALTHY) Lowry..... Lawson > Smart, Dragic, Hill, Collison (lol give me a break), Bradley, IT3, Vasquez, Rubio (LOL) etc. and he's in his prime with something to prove. Don't let his drinkin gfool you, Ty Lawson is legit.

The off court stuff is a legit scare but on the court ty is a true baller one of the best pgs in the game. If he played on a higher profile team for the past 6 years he would be in the convo for top 5 pg his skills and game offensivly is off the charts. Nobody in the league can do the things ty can with that ball.

People are going to very surprised how good this guy is very quickly.

Everyone is going to look at this topic and laugh. There is no PG in the NBA that can stay in front of Ty Lawson

Who care's who starts or not. All that matters is who can produce for their team when they are playing.

Good attitude. Hope it's sincere. He may or may not start, but I believe James & Ty will finish most games together.
