Well, I'm sitting here in staff inservice on technology covering policies and procedures.(ironic, isn't it) It seems like I'm at the same school for at least another year. The principal was changed, and the school looks like it's bak on track...although one of my classes has 37 kiddos and another has 33. So, being a teacher and being back at school, I want to be the first to ask... What did you do this summer? As far as me and my family, for the first time since my divorce two years ago, my son spent more than 24 hours with me. We went to my brother's place in San Antonio for a week including the 4th of July and hit Fiesta, Sea World, Barnum and Bailey's circus, Riverwalk and Tower of Texas. We also hit the HRC on the last night we were there. Two weeks after we got back, I got my son for another week and we spent it at our home. We also spent a week at South Padre Island, but I had to drive back and forth to Brownsville to pick up my son and take him back. At home, I also landscaped the yard with a couple of Live Oaks, two Crape Myrtles and and dwarf Crape, a hedge of Gardenia's. and Mexican Petunia's lining the driveway and walkway. There was so much more, but what did YOU do?
Summer vacation........what the heck is that What school do you teach at? My sister teaches at Kingwood High {Speech and debate coach and teacher}
That's a lot of ****ing kids. I know I was never in a class with that many when I was in school, and I know my wife has never taught that many. Good luck.
I still have a week. Na-na-na-na naaah na! Outside of occasionally working, I spent most of my summer sleeping til noon and getting fat.
I go back the 27th but i really havent done much this summer, played bball, went to kings island, saw some movies, just normal stuff
For most of the summer, I just played games, basketball, watched tv, read The Grapes of Wrath for school, and typed here. Pretty uneventful. Now my family vacation was completely different, though not in a good way. We planned on fishing in Galveston for a week in late July. Then, 3 days in, the tide starts to rise big time. Looks like Hurrican Claudette's coming. So, we go back home to avoid it. Uh..you know...back home in Victoria county. Close to Port Lavaca. We didn't really get much damage from Claudette, but the power was out for like a week. But in the end, we all became closer...or something cheesy like that. Hehe...my school has to postpone the 1st day of school since they are still repairing stuff from Claudette plus a recent storm we had that had gusts of like 50 mph. Maybe it all worked out for the best.
10 more days of summer left for me. What did I do this summer? Went on adventures around town and sat on my butt all day mostly.
