I added the place to google maps and its waiting approval. I submitted pictures with the back story to the location so hopefully they add it to the map!

Awesome!!! It's people like you that make this place so special! You really picked the "right" username breh! I rep'd you, not for finding the site but because you did such a great "Vanna White"! You pointed right at his name...

As far as Detroit, I haven't been by there in at least 20yrs so I don't know how/if it has changed or not, but I do remember it being a slum for the most part (at least what I saw). You REALLY get a sense of how bad it is when you cross over to Windsor in Canada! As soon (literally) as you exit the Ambassador Bridge into Canada you do a double take! It's like night and day, one is dirty, old, graffiti filled (Detroit) and the other is clean, manicured and graffiti free (Windsor)! I'll never forget that, it's surreal!

    Great thread OP!

Repped! One of the better threads during the off season. Thanks for sharing your adventure and pics. As others have said, you GF sounds like a keeper.

OT, anyone seen the horror flick, It Follows? The images of the run down Detroit is so depressing.

If we are to develop a Pilgrimage for Houston Rockets Fans, perhaps:

    Rudy T Shrine ( Detroit, Michigan )
The Twin Trophies ( Toyota Center, Houston, Texas )
Birthplace of Hakeem Olajuwon ( Lagos, Nigeria )
The location of the Sampson Shot ( The Forum, Inglewood, California )
Olajuwon Statue ( Toyota Center, Houston, Texas )
The location of the Sean Elliot failed physical ( Lakewood Church, The Summit Medical Center, Houston, Texas )
The Kiss of Death Shrine ( America West Arena, Phoenix, Arizona )
The 10 HOF Photos ( The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, Spring Field Massachusettes ))
Franchise Birth Place ( San Diego Sports Arena, San Diego, California )
The Coin ( Toyota Center, Houston, Texas )
Clutch the Bear ( Go To his home and knock on door at 3am.)

At the end of the Pilgrimage you will be given the Prefix - "Kobling"

Psh, that thread wasn't anything special.

I kid, I kid about the above. I know that's not it..

Repped bro, you should have narrated and recorded the journey. It's already epic though. Thanks for sharing the experience.
