No I didn't. Maybe a 8 is to high for the movie. But that is probably influenced by two things. First I have Always loved the Original planet of the apes. One of the best endings in any movie. And these 2 movies were a huge step from the 2001 debacle. Second I did not expect much from it, and I had seen so many bad movies in the weeks before I watched this that I was pleasently surprised.

I disagree. A 4 might be a bit harsh, but since I usually love Nolans movies I had big expectations. Unfortunatly it was just a huge letdown and a ridicolous movie. In the Interstellar thread I wrote down my objections with it. Maybe a 5 is more accurate. But I do not think it was a good movie.

When we learned about the difference in time on the different planet it was clear that he was the one leaving the messages. Also The future humans needed him to communicate with his daughter because... Love:rolleyes:

The longest yard. Movie had all my favorite wrestlers in their prime. That stone cold and nelly book drop was intense. With Cheese guy was hilarious.

I'm getting my football movie fix since I just put my son in training camp. The shreds is real. Throw me some good recommendations

    Kingsmen - 7/10

Entertaining and action packed. Didn't care so much for the main character and some of it was cheesy but all in all was a fun movie to watch.

Agreed. Movie was one of the best movies I've seen in a very long time, probably top 3 favorite movie ever. What I liked the most about the movie was the subtle message that urges humans to focus on more important things.

I can understand giving this movie maybe an 8/10 the lowest if you're picky with the science but JUST the visuals alone should give this movie a 7/10+.

If you didn't like the movie because you think that the twist was bad then you completely miss all the points. The twist was irrelevant.

I'm generally a pretty open minded person but I just don't see how anyone can rate "Hercules" better than Interstellar lol.

I think the point of this movie was the epic creativity of Hans Zimmer's soundtrack.

It Follows 8/10 : original horror movie, reminded me of the final destination when it first came out. The two movies are not alike but they just remind me of each other because they are about teenagers and it's a fresh idea on a horror movie.

The story is about a sexually transmitted disease (kind of) where once you get it, you see various people following you. These people don't run, they just walk very slowly towards you. This builds a lot of tension through out the entire movie as each character with this disease is paranoid constantly of seeing people. Of course if you let it touch you, you die.

    Babadook 8/10
Same reviewers that liked the following recommended this one and it was pretty good. Not so much frightening as disturbing.

    Crazy Stupid Love 7/10
I got this on TV probably at the funniest part and decided to watch the full movie on dvd. It was a decent good time and didnt' follow the typical romance movie formula of (Girl falls for guy, guy does something stupid girl gets upset, guy redeems himself. )

So which do you disagree with?

I understand some might like interstellar and have a different opinion on movies than me. But there are certain aspects of movies which are important to me. Like the ending. And logical behavior of characters. Plot holes in these aspects are just a pet peeve of mine.

Hercules was not a good movie by any stretch, but I found it far more entertaining than Interstellar.

This idea that anyone who dislikes Interstellar is a troll or not smart enough to understand the movie is just ridiculous. I thought the movie was really, REALLY bad. It was downright cringe-worthy. And I am well aware of Carl Sagan's Cosmos (one of my favorite series of all time).

    A movie I just watched:

Eagle Eye - 5/10 - It had some interesting concepts but it just sort of fell apart in the second half.

No I did not miss the point. I just care for characters, logic and how a movie ends, more than some subtle (I wouldn't call it subtle) message. I dislike the argument, If you do not nlike a movie you must not have understood it. That is a weak argument. People just have different things they think is important in a movie (for example I do not care that much for the Visuals, as long as it is not laughable bad).

I will write down a couple of things that bugged me.

Characters were terrible. I really couldn’t care for the characters (the only one I cared for was the daughter, but only when she was young, Since she reminded me of my oldest daughter). He really did not care for his son did he?

1 hour on the planet was 7 years outside of the planet, but they couldn’t figure out that that meant that they could not have gotten many readings since the explorer could only have been on the planet for a couple of hours. I thought they were supposed to be smart. This is a big pet peeve of mine. If people are supposed to be smart they cannot make stupid choices which even a high scholar would have done better if he thought for like 5 minutes.

Cooper didn’t need to train with this ship, since it has been years he was actually in a ship (which crashed). And what would they have done if they did not meet Cooper? Did they have another Pilot?

Also the ending. He was needed because of Love??? Really?

I do not care that much for the Visuals, much less than the others aspects I just mentioned.

The reason why I rate Hercules higher is not because it has more substance. It is just a movie does not try to be great, It tries to be an entertaining (turn your brain of) movie. And i succeeds in being that. Would I recommend it to anybody, no ofcourse not. But it succeeded in keeping me entertained during the entire movie (ofcourse I had to tuurn my brain of).

Interstellar tries to be a great movie. But it fails (for me) in doing that. It wants you to think, but when you actually think you see many mistakes. which results in a long and boring movie with supposedly smart people making stupid mistakes (like the water planet). During the last hour I kept checking how long I still had to sit through the movie.

I heard that Neil deGrasse Tyson said the science behind it was right. If that is the cases I will hand to them that they did try to explain difficult material in an easy to understand way. But that does not absolve the movie of the other mistakes.

Some people just can't comprehend science. No harm in admitting it.

I do not think the science was difficult to understand, I actually thought they did a good job in explaining it. I have a problem with the all the other aspects of the movie. If the goal was simplifying complicated astrophysics to an layman audience it succeeded. But if their goal was to make an entertaining and smart movie they failed IMHO.

But if we are indeed going to discuss this one movie lets do it in the thread about Interstellar, otherwise we will really get off topic and ruin this great thread.

Could not help it, sorry. I thought it was entertaining. Not the best movie or anything.

Fantastic Four - What a mess, really pointless reboot. Nothing new to see and Dr. Doom looks pretty stupid. I'm pretty forgiving but this movie just bored me, badly...... - D
