Has anyone ever played in one of these company leagues? I'm just wondering how competitive, serious they are. I hear there are a few girls playing, so I don't know if I'd be a jerk for trying to block a girls shot or throwing an elbow ;) .

i used to play in my dad's company league with the shell oil refinery in deer park, texas.

it was pretty competitive. of course i was our team's best player. the only one who could block someone's shot one side of the court and then come back on the other end and dunk it. :D

man, there's no harm in blocking a girl's shot. if they didn't want to play for real then they wouldn't have signed up in the league.

my boss used to play in a church basketball league. he had to constantly watch his mouth and not trash talk. what was funny was that instead of saying "get that schit out of my house!" when blocking a shot, he would say "get that out of God's house!". funny guy. :D

enjoy it. i'm sure you will.

I have done this before. There is always one jerk off that is real serious and thinks he is the coach. He is probably the one that wears the headband, gym shorts and colored stripe socks.( I hope your not him) Just have fun and enjoy it.

OS - is that the movie theater in Dunwoody with the Starbucks and Atlanta Bread Company in the same shopping center? I used to work at Mirant right there.

I work there! I played a few games a couple of seasons ago. It is very competitive. I wish I could have conttinued, but this was before the back surgeries, and it just caused too much pain.

I'll play in somebodys league. I like to dominate scrubs. Just pretend I am somebodys son, and I can play in somebodys league.

    I'll gurantee victory.

My company should run a basketball league. I'm sure I could spank everyone in the company. Then I could see what it feels like to be the best baller on the floor. Those fat 40 year old mothers of 4 don't stand a chance against me!

i don't want to mention my dad's name on here, but i will say that his initials are A.H., black guy of course, 5'11"-6'0", and about 250. he's been working there i believe for 25+ years now (first he got a gold ring with an emerald in it, then after another five years he got one with a diamond).

i'm not on the best of terms with my family right now... well... i'm not on the best of terms with anybody or anything for that matter, so if you know who it is don't mention me to him.

    sorry for the derail, harrisment.

Ah...don't worry about the off topic comments. I actually live in Deer Park! Behad, do you live in the area, or just work there?

Anyways, back to the topic....I know I wont be the best person on the floor, because most of the guys that work at this company are around my age (I'm 24), and I havent been playing much ball lately. I'm sure it will be fun though and hopefully get me interested in playing more often again.
