Let's try this one last time--during this year, what has Crane done to affect the attendance or business operations or finances of the Astros' and their games poorly? Forget Drayton, forget the last few years, forget what you know before 2015. You've been asked this question by about 5 different posters now and have yet to answer the question or even try.

That's cool. I obviously didn't put "subpar" sports city in the right context... which raised emotion.

Better said, Houston is subpar than what it could be, sports-wise.

The current squads/players are quickly improving things. And looks like it's only getting started. Watt, Harden/Rockets, and Astros are going hard!! Some of the best times for the city.

You flipped about Les though. First you said NHL doesn't like him, that's why no team. Now you say he has to "want it". No harm though. I just think the city is "lesser" than it could be without hockey. My bad for thinking we SHOULD have a team.

Be real. You know population plays a role and plenty I said matters. You really think Dallas or any city would have same teams if half its population left or never existed? Clouded by anger you actually said interest plays no role. You can't be serious. You proclaimed how dumb I was for not knowing MIA and ATL's lack of interest. I could go on. Just step back, breathe... and listen to yourself for a second.

Houston is on the rise though: Watt, Harden, Astros... happy to see it. A few more championships in multiple sports will definitely "lessen" any NHL or "subpar" argument.

    One simple question....

What has the Astros front office (notably Crane) done to damage the fans THIS YEAR? That's all...one simple question....

Can you answer that without spewing anything else....

EDIT: Incidentally, aside from the Royals, the Astros have seen the largest percentage increase in attendance per game this year over last.

    Wow,

I really admire some of you guys dedication on this and wish Jim Crane could hire you and I am sure the business will surely be improved.

Please check my post in this thread #176. And in fact you just posted a reply right after in #177.

It is amazing that you guys are so good in English as keep correcting me about "is" and "was" but just totally ignoring the content itself.

in #176, I "was" (oh thank you for teaching me this word) clearly talking about only - the CSN debacle and its damage to the Astros fan base.

And somehow you still want to keep going and twisting my words?

First...I never corrected your use of is/was. Second, there is absolutely nothing in post 176 as to what Crane has done THIS SEASON to damage the fan base. Everything you spewed in post 176 has nothing to so with this season. Show me in this post where you talk about THIS SEASON:

The whole CSN network is a disaster in the last few years.

Granted, all 3 of them - the Astros, Rockets, and Comcast should share the blames for the failure.

But when things went bad and the other 2 sides are looking for ways to get out of it, especially the Rockets - which are becoming a good team and badly needs the broadcast to increase their market value, the Astros are insisting they don't want to cut a deal to lose further.

Yes, they have a bad team at that time and no eager to do anything, but with this kind of moves plus the last 5-8 years of horrible things happened to this team, they are just further damaging their fan base.

THERE IS NOTHING IN THE ABOVE STATEMENTS DEALING WITH THIS SEASON

No matter how you see this, Houston is still a major sport market, and right now this is the most exciting team in the MLB, its a shame that we can't have a better attendance.

But as I said, Jim Crane and his team has not been doing a good job on this nor they have the vision and planning like the Rockets.

THERE IS NOTHING IN THE ABOVE STATEMENT THAT SAYS WHAT CRANE HAS DONE TO DAMAGE THE FAN BASE THIS SEASON

    It's Jim Crane's fault that that figure isn't 41,574

    SMH... 10x

This dude really has the nerve to respond in this thread without addressing my last post.

Your fraudulence is an insult to your SN.... a true H-Town legend.

Explain to ClutchFans why population, interest, and corporations play zero role in NHL (or any sport for that matter).
Explain why NHL's hating Les is the reason, while at the SAME time, Les holds all the cards.

You were so bold to call me names, but now you cower.

    No surprise

Your profound rebuttals are almost as impressive as your ability to type while giving hand-jobs.

Great hockey discussion in the Astros forum

The real story is Cricket though. No reason for Houston to not have a major Cricket team. It's all Cranes fault though. When the csn fiasco was going on he acquired TV rights to all Cricket games in Houston through 2080! ESPN can't even show Australian Cricket highlights without his permission. Stupid Crane is keeping us from having Cricket yall!! We should be up in arms over this!!

The only way the NHL comes to Houston is if Les owns the team. If another owner wants to move to the Houston market, he will have to build himself another arena outside the city limits. It's part of the arena referendum if I believe correctly. There were talks about Les purchasing the Oilers.

No owner or potential owner is willing to negotiate a deal and be second tenant and have some of their arena income go into Les Alexander's pocket.

    And **** Dallas

The city of Houston is starting to come around.

It will be interesting to see what happens in the next few weeks.

I have a feeling the games won't be under 25k for the rest of the year.

The Astros have a similar home edge this year.

It has been interesting to watch. I went to the last 20 games of the regular home season in 2005.

Stros were so dominant at home.

    Crowds were insanely loud.
