That's cool! I was one of the 5936 fans regularly in the Astrodome in the mid-90's. I did bail out for the last few years, until last year actually. I have better things to do than watch (but I couldn't even watch) a horrifically subpar entertainment product. If I still lived in Houston I would have gone to the games regardless, but alas....
The ride is fun as hell, no doubt, but I just can't agree with this. Though, if we don't win it all this year, I'll take a bit of solace in the fact that I know we'll be contenders again next year.
Yea I was at several games like that in the dome too. Didn't live in Houston then but only a couple of hours away. Have been at many games the past several years where they might have had a larger official attendance, but there couldn't have been more than 2K there This.....is....::awesome!!!!!
Me too in the Dome. Couldn't beat $1 seats next to General Admission. So many times I just wanted to knock him out of the way and fire that cannon.
We have exactly one starting position player over 30 years old (Lowrie). Gonna be good for a long, long time.
The only perk of those losing seasons was the never ending supply of free tickets from my church and the ability to sit in any part of the ballpark that pleased me. Well I've had my fill of that, I'm content with sitting in my crappy upper deck seat and watch some WINNING baseball once again. Oh, the losing seasons also turned me on to the MiLB. Although many prospects bust, how sweet it is to see these youngsters progress from level to level.
Don't forget how silly Gregerson made Pujols look in the top of ninth. Has to be tough being an Angels fan right now. Swept by the Stros then watching Hamilton win another game for Texas.
Believe me, I'm well aware. I just want a Stros championship for this city. Badly. Not greedy. Even if we come out of this era with just one, I'm ecstatic. Until then, eliminations will crush me.
Look at this poll after the article: http://www.halosheaven.com/2015/7/3...he-angels-a-zero-in-gut-punch-walkoff-loss-to
Haha. I'm not dumb enough to believe this is true with 60 games to go and a 2 game lead, but it really just feels like the division race ended today. I think we are about to roll.

I'm not an Astro's fan, as an Australian, my rule with american sports is to not follow a team from the same city - basketball was my first american sports love and I have been a rockets fan my whole life but I have a soft spot for the Astros given my rockets fandom and the fact i follow an NL team. Very happy for you all having followed a team that built through prospects and a lot of losing (Washington) it is so gratifying when it comes together. Since my team sucks it's cool the Astros are doing well
