Hate is generally born out of available time via under-utilization and lack of fulfillment of personal set goals (or lack thereof). This "empty void" naturally needs to be filled. To the downtrodden, it is generally filled with heavy salt deposits rather than productive means to initiate progress and personal growth...a LADDER out of the "salt pits". Unbeknownst to themselves, this causes a vicious and repetitive cycle, similar to that of high sugar consumption and it's see-saw effect of insulin release.

An unbalance is then created when placed directly in stark contrast of one who has perceptively fulfilled their own personal goals and thus has received some form of reward for their benefiting of others via efficient use of "time" and sacrificing "creature comforts".

it's an extension so it doesn't kick in until fall of 2016. that's why his contract is so much more than Jimmy Butler's (90 some million). it's still considerably less than Anthony Davis' (140 some million). can any capologists explain why?

My problem with Lillard is that he thinks he is better who he is, while others don't.

Lillard and Davis got the same contract

Butler's kicked in a year early under a lower cap number, so thats why it is lower.

Davis' max is larger than Lillard's because it is assumed he will make another All-NBA team this season. The CBA states players with 3-9 years experience are eligible for 30% of the salary cap as their max rather than the typical 25% if they a) Win an MVP award b) Are selected as an All Star game starter twice, or c) Are selected to any All-NBA team twice

So far Derrick Rose, Blake Griffin, and Paul George are the only players to have qualified. A. Davis will likely be the 4th.

His team is in shambled and the Rockets are title contenders. Heck im sure you and Portland are salty since the "team of the future" is 1-8 in the playoffs since that shot.

Enjoy getting banner idiot. 1-8 in the playoffs since hitting that shot that's not a fictional "haterade" those are facts. And I didn't have to use a homophobic slur to lay down those facts.

Not comparing Lillard to tmac.. but did ppl hate tmac for having no playoff success?

Maybe so. Still shouldn't take away from a players individual accolades, talents and potential..which is what all of you are doing. The dude is going into his 4th yr

The reason Lillard is getting a 5 year 125 contract vs Leonard's 5 year 90 million contract is simple. Lillard's contract is an extension.

Lillard's is an extension meanwhile Kawhi's isn't. Lillard doesn't start his new contract until after this season is over. That means that his contract will be 25 percent of the 2016-2017 cap. Kawhi is getting 25 percent as well, but it is of the 2015-2016 salary cap. 25 percent of 70m is about 17.5M. Multiply that by 5 and you get 87.5M. With yearly raises it'll make about 90 million. Make sense?

If 120 divided by 5 is 24 which is 1/4 of the cap, then multiply that by 4 and you get 96 million which is going to be the estimated salary cap for the 2016-2017 season.

So many people saying that Lillard is getting paid more because he has more accolades than Kawhi and was a 6th pick rather than a 15th pick are just so wrong. I'm surprised this went on for 4 pages and no one corrected it.

So why wasn't Kawhi eligible for an extension that Lillard got? Because he was coming out of a rookie contract?

Yep, Kawhi's rookie contract is over, so it's too late to sign an extension, time to sign a new contract which starts this year. Lillard's new contract only starts next year, when the cap and max salary will be higher.

So, the Spurs actually ripped him off by telling him to wait til this season to sign.

When Lillard is getting paid in the last year of his contract, Kawhi can sign for 30 million that year and make up the difference. The trick is to not fall off for the next 5 years.
