Today I lunched at one of the places I often go to when I want something nice to eat at a restaurant and not spend $30.00 or more...(Trust me I don't have tons of money) The place for me often than not is Chili's Of course in the mix is: Friday's bennigens etc. So what's yours? and your plate? Mine is the SW egg rolls,..or Grilled chicken sandwich...with chips con queso...and a glass of coke.
Pappas Burgers - The burger, obviously Ninfas - Fajitas Goode Co. BBQ - Sausage sandwich, baked potatoe
Esteban's or the new Sudie's Catfish Kitchen (Smeg, we ate there finally and it's really good, although I did not have the catfish. The fried shrimp were very good though.)
If you want real casual (no tipping), one of the best is Chinese Cafe on Richmond (in the same shopping center as CitiStreets). There's also one in Sugar Land and in Chinatown (Bellaire) My favorite is the Szechuan Style Fried Beef (thin strips of beef, carrots, and celery cooked with hot sauce and soy sauce) - $6.95. It's like Cafe Express except no vibrating gizmo. They just call out the numbers in unintelligible English. "Foutah-fou. Number Foutah-fou"
Mai's - great Tai in the wee hours of the morning BW-3's Why go to Chili's when you can go here? Cafe Miami- Tu Sabes? Adrian's- Soul food is the best food www.houston.citysearch.com
Kenny & Ziggy's Taqueria La Tapatia BW3 Williams Brothers Smokehouse Ragin Cajun Damn here I am in the middle of a recording session and you guys have got me hungry! Better have another beer...
I've lived in Houston all my life and have never been to Good Co. BBQ...what's good there (i don't eat pork) and which location is best?
I second that...Mongolian Beef (extra spicy), Chang's Spicy Chicken, and Orange Peel Chicken are my favorites.
Mai's (best vietnamese food, open 24 hours, nice atmopshere) Dot's Diner (it's like a better version of IHOP/Wafflehouse/Denny's.. plus most of the time the waitress is a nice old grandma.. open 24/7) Bennigan's (just 'cause)
You should try the new Pei Wei chains going up around town now. There is one on hwy 6 in Sugar Land and another on Buffalo Speedway. They are in the PF Chang family. It's a diner...you order your meal...sit down and they bring it to you. They also have a good take out service. The menu is slightly different and less selection but still good and not as expensive. And it's very laid back and casual. http://www.peiwei.com/story.jsp
Do yourself a big favor and go there as soon as possible. The only Goode Co. I know of (think it's the only one) is on the Katy Freeway, either the Voss or Campbell exit I believe. They prepare all the food in front of you so you'll see what they got. Please go there!
Loved Estebans in League City, great Tex-Mex at very cheap prices. although not a restaurant, the Ruben i had at that Deli near Rice Village i think (HeyP what's it called??) was amazing in size and taste, and i think my stomach as forgotten, so i might get another.
