trump as maybe a governor is one thing. but to truly think he would be good for this country and the rest of the world. i mean wow.

this isn't 200 years ago where you can have a clown sit on a throne and their reach can only go so far. this guy would have the ability to act out on his temper.

Sarah Palin on the GOP ticket in 2012 is close enough for me. Hard to top that.

A scary moment for this country.

If Republicans didn't keep reaching further right , they'd actually be pretty great for this country. Alas, reaching further to the right is the only way for the current establishment to stay in power.

Trump the President would probably not actually run the country, he would hire people for that just like he does everything else.

This is always the case. Voting for a candidate is voting for an administration.

I agree but it can be said that the final decision is based on the President's knowledge in a lot of circumstances. If that President has no knowledge of any given subject though, he will totally rely on the people he hires. Like George Bush, lol.

Cruz claims that McConnell told the media that he wouldn't allow a vote on the Ex-Im Bank. There are numerous instances where McConnell has openly stated he opposes the Bank but would allow vote. Maybe it's Cruz that's filled with deceit?

Wrong. McConnell told the other GOP senators an Ex-Im amendment would get treated no different than any other amendment that a senator could bring up. No one disputes Cruz's account of this.

Instead McConnell blocked all other amendments and brought up the Ex-Im vote himself, giving it priority. McConnell refused to allow votes on any other senators' amendments. This is called "filling the tree", which Reid did all the time, and in the past McConnell called tyranny.

    Except that they do.

    http://www.politico.com/story/2015/07/senate-obamacare-repeal-ted-cruz-mike-lee-120637.html?hp=t2_r

In interviews, several Republican senators said they could not recall a confrontation between McConnell and Cruz in a party lunch, as Cruz described it on Friday. They also said they were not surprised that McConnell forced a vote on the Export-Import Bank because he’s been saying he would for weeks, publicly and privately.

“There was no misunderstanding,” said Sen. Mike Rounds (R-S.D.).

Similarly, Graham said that he went to the floor and told reporters on the day of the trade vote what the deal was: that McConnell would let proponents attach the Ex-Im Bank plan to the highway bill.

“Unless you have been completely missing in action, you’d know this day was coming,” Graham said. “I did a press release and floor statement” reiterating McConnell’s promises.

And, of course, there's still no evidence of Cruz's claim that McConnell told the media he wouldn't allow a vote on Ex-Im.

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/senate-gop-republican-leaders-ted-cruz_55b52ce3e4b0074ba5a4dfdd?

Cruz again accused McConnell of promising him and the rest of the caucus that he would not allow a vote on the Export-Import Bank.

"That promise was made and that promise was broken," Cruz said, adding that the pledge was also made to the press.

Several Senators have said that the expectation and intent was to allow a vote on Ex-Im, and there seems to be no one that can point to when McConnell said otherwise to the media. So as far as I can tell, Cruz is the one lying.

Cruz never claimed that. He said McConnell told them it would not be given priority over other amendments, which it was.

Cruz is actually right here- the Republicans were caught in their lie that they espouse "capitalism" when, in fact, they espouse "Robin Hood in Reverse" stealing from the taxpayers. McConnell supports Ex-Im in private but pretends otherwise in public. Just no the Republicans do not favor any "market" where the rich can lose any money, and will make sure the taxpayers backstop them accordingly.
