I think Austin Barnes is a great get. Probably underrated by the Marlins. Reminds me of giving up unheralded Ben Zobrist (who Friedman also traded for). Though he could also end up like JR Towles. Keith Law didn't put the Dodgers system in his top 5 (or even his top 7), despite them having his #1, #4, & #20 prospects in all of baseball. We'd get a lot for Jose Altuve if we were willing to trade him. More than what the Dodgers got for Gordon & a $0 Haren. Heck we could throw in a $0 Feldman.
I think he's more likely to get some time at 3B in the majors. He'll probably only get the call if there is an injury to Valbuena (and at this point 2 injuries with Lowrie nearing a return).
By most accounts he's a pretty solid 3B, but that's really all he has going for him. Tyler White is clearly ahead of him at 1B, AJ Reed is also very close, and so is Moran at 3B. When Lowrie went down, and Valbuena was having no success whatsoever against lefties, I thought that was his window. The fact that they left him exposed in the Rule V, and didn't add him to the 40 when there was a possible need, tells me he's not really in their plans unless a rash of injuries happen to our 3B guys.

Pretty funny that Astros provided no transportation and made Nottingham and Mengden walk all the way to their new clubhouse. Lancaster was playing A's affiliate.

The trade from the Astros to the Athletics is official. I think is time for you to shave, lol or at list, trim a little And now, i've not seeing much lately from you that i can say i can agree 100 percent. Now, is good to see that you put in writting that Kemp is not that good????? Second, anchor??? Straily????? I've always said a very good number 5 and maybe 4. Sorry, but look at what Straily did 2 years ago with Oakland, please, look at the numbers. And you know what? This year, 1 bad inning in 2 games. Did you see both games on Straily??????? I prefer Straily and his contract than Feldman and his contract. Now, if you want to disagree, well, that is your opinion. Now, Haren, former All Star pitcher, and who is having 2 very good seasons?????? I said "A very good number 3 in our rotation, as McCullers is pitching great". Number 3 is anchor?????? Well, if that is your opinion, then i have to disagree AGAIN WITH YOU
mmm okay? I don't think you understand how MLB contracts work. Are you insinuating we trade Feldman for low end prospects??
Let us leave the trade speculation for other threads. Everyone can have an opinion. But Colin Moran might be turning the corner. Just when it seemed everyone was starting to write him off. He might turn into the Mark Grace type of player he was so often compared to. He has his OPS up to almost .800, which is head and shoulders better than the sub .700 he was carrying at the early part of the season. If Moran reestablished himself as an elite prospect, we should all be extremely happy.
Paulino: 6.2IP 0R 3H 3BB 6K Martes so far in his Lancaster debut: 5IP 4H 2R 2BB 8K Feliz: 5IP 7H 3R 2BB 5K Musgrove: 4IP 1H 0R 1BB 5K Also Strailey looking good so far: 3IP 0H 1BB 4K
Straily has turned it around, i like him more than Feldman, but, the one with the highest contract is the one that is going to pitch
