I don't know, he said right off the bat that it wasn't about money due to the Detroit situation -- seems to imply that he knows he has enough?

Josh is an interesting player. He never became the player he could have with better coaching and guidance from an early age. Still he is a success, he has played in the NBA a long time, made more money than 99.999% of the world and has stayed out of trouble.

No hard feelings Josh.... but I have to say, I don't really miss you either.

Should have taken the partial MLE offer if he was hurting so bad!

Decision making was never one of his strong points.

Whatever. Could he have phrased his answer better than saying "it'll be hard on my family, but I'll push through it" ? Sure, but whatever. What is he going to say ? "It ain't **** homie, I'm rich as hell!!" Or " yeah bruh, I wish you mofo's were paying me more money!!!" He's basically saying it is what it is. He's just not the smoovest talker.

It really sounded like he was talking about location though.

How? He's talking about getting a long term deal next year ($$).His family didn't move to Detroit when he signed there for 4 years. He's disappointed he had to sign a minimum contract and doesn't want his family to have to adjust.

Saying "it's not about the money" doesn't excuse the latter statement. That's like saying "I don't mean any disrespect but..."

Either way, he implied that he only wants to be in LA for this year. Pretty strange press conference.

    money

He definitely went for playing time. All the taxes in California will take six figures off of what he would get in Texas.

It was not a statement about the money but rather the unfamiliar situation..new city, different role, etc...Josh was great in Houston and he respects us so the least we can do is give him the benefit of doubt...people here are so quick to start hating someone that leaves...we are all hardworking people and sometimes we switch jobs we are happy with for a job we think might be better for us and our families in the future. :)

Josh and Dwight act like they are 16. Sometimes it's great, sometimes it gets you 9 kids from 8 moms and a grown man thinking he deserves a parade for taking a small paycut.

Morey's only mistake not giving Josh a defined role. He should've traded Jones before the draft. This would have resulted in having Josh as the first big off the bench (same role as Clippers).

It depends on what Morey was getting for TJones. You don't get pennies on the dollar for a guy just to keep Smith. Also, remember the Rockets were also going after LMA at the same time. I'm not sure if that necessarily rubbed Josh the right way either. At the end of the day, who cares? He's gone.
