    When the Spurs got LaMarcus Aldridge and David West, our stay at the top of Texas was REAL short.

    With the acquisition of the Oak Hill GAWD Ty Lawson, are we now the best team in Texas again?

    The Spurs have a slightly better starting 5, IMO, but we have more depth. Gotta play the games to find out who's better.

    Aldridge addition > Lawson addition by far

    The question is, is Howard, Jones and Beverley's health + Lawson > 1 year older spurs + Aldridge?

    Who knows, who knows if we even be healthy next season.

    I'm still going to go with the Spurs right now though, lets just hope where better then the Clippers and OKC and can get home court, because it's still very possible for us to finish 5th.

    I'm not so sure San Antonio has the better starting 5 at this point, even with LMA.

    Lawson > Parker
    Harden >> Fredette
    Ariza < Leonard
    DMO < Duncan
    Howard = LMA

    Regarding Howard and LMA, you're looking at a top 3 center going up against a top 2 PF playing out of position.

    But even if you argue that they somehow have a slightly better starting 5, we have much more depth. Our team is stacked.

    Houston is still the top dog in Texas this season, in my opinion.

    Again??? The Rockets were ALWAYS the best team in Texas.. they just weren't winning games and playoff series lol

    Completely impossible to know until we see how Lawson responds to treatment and (if he needs it) sobriety. If he can manage to climb the great mountain in his personal life I think he makes us a favorite in the West. If he doesn't, he doesn't.

    The question isn't one of us vs. the Spurs. It's one of Ty versus his demons.

    we were until the spurs got lamarcus aldridge and david west. i'm asking if acquiring ty lawson changes that.

    2nd in the West behind non texas team in regular season and playoffs means we are best team in Texas, until someone ends regular/playoffs higher than us.

    I had originally put a qualifier of "or whomever they put here", but removed it because I figured it didn't matter. Harden's gonna beast anyone they put at SG.
