The Rockets uniforms, logo and merchandise suck so bad. The only Rockets merchandise that I buy is old school with the classic logo and Clutch City era uniforms. When I go to games at the Toyota Center it is hard not to notice how many people are wearing the old school gear. You would think Rockets management would notice this. If the Rockets brought back the classic logo and refresh the classic uniforms, they would sell a ton of merchandise. I want a Harden old school jersey.
the clippers are much worse. But the Rockets new grey is definitely hideous. I suspect they will look too much like the grey Phoenix jerseys that looked like pijamas to me.
The shorts don't look like they match the shirts... The grey shorts would probably look good, but with a sleeveless top that shares the same pattern. I don't think they can...Motor city barely fits. Clutch city would have an extra letter.
Not a fan of the black ones at all surprisingly. But the red ones with the space effect are amazing! Need the space effect on the blacks ones too IMO. But not sure the space effect goes with the yellow/mustard trim.
This was FIRST picture saw in this thread of different looking uniforms I reacted with "Take My Money!" feelings Until I saw "CONCEPT" further down on pic ... And THEN I saw the actual uni "changes".... *SMH*
I think theyre okay. I like the Chinese writing sleeved jersey too. Jerseys are fine with me. Even if the NBA agenda is to put ads on them, I dont mind the sleeved look AND fit Its just that the designs are really conservative and non-progressing. Almost lazily done changes at a time where plenty teams are going im bolder noticely BETTER directions
I really like sleeved jerseys, at least as an alternate. I really just don't like the cut of our current jerseys and I don't think the design lends itself well to the championship cut or the classic cut as I call it. We don't have to have the old jerseys back but a nice design that lends itself well to the classic cut of jersey would be perfect. I like the design of the concepts in this thread but I don't think they're timeless. The logo is nice though.
should've done all light grey base (no black) with red accents and sleeves for #1 (with rockets on chest like the pic below) should've done a white base with red and yellow accent sleeveless Clutch City for #2 (Clutch City font exactly like t-shirts below in red minus the stripes) there, i've done better than our design team
On a side note, I'm really digging the Pacers wearing the "Hickory" uniform to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the film Hoosiers. Such a cool idea and looks like a good rendition as well. More teams should consider doing historical unis related to the history of the team and the state they play in. The Rockets should do a historic uni version of UofH colors with "Phi Slama Jama" word mark in honor of Hakeem and Clyde days as Cougars and then Rockets legends.
Who thought this was a good idea? "Fans wanted a black uniform so we'll come out with a grey uniform with some black & white down the side & Rockets red on the front. " Gonna be hard for anyone to ever "top" the Clippers trash but damn...
