Lowrie's return will occur in the window of the trading deadline, so there is absolutely no telling what moves will make space for him. It won't be the release of Marwin (or Valbuena as someone else suggested) though. Those guys aren't "great" players, but they certainly have value. I could see Marwin being included in a deal, or Singleton or Carter included in a deal....but none of those guys are going to released...Singleton could be optioned, but my guess is they are more likely to move him in a trade than option him
Curious as to why you would be surprised? There is typically only room for one utility infielder on the 25 man roster. Altuve and Correa are not going anywhere, and I think Valbuena is locked in as well barring a trade, as he's the best third baseman defensively. Lowrie is as good as an infielder as Marwin (imo) and better at the plate, so it would be logical that Marwin gets optioned and Lowrie becomes the utility guy. Unless they do something creative at first base, like have Lowrie become an everyday first baseman, but it seems to me like Hinch/Luhnow prefer power at the first base position.
Marwin isn't great, but he is too valuable to be optioned He will either be included in a deal, or someone else will that opens a spot to keep him here. The timing of Lowrie's return matching up with the trade deadline makes it impossible to tell where his roster spot comes from
Last season they wore the rainbow pits on Sunday home games, don't know why they stopped that this year. I really like those.
Compared to the orange and all white (their best look, IMO), they don't look that great.... they look like ST jerseys (which they are). They probably base a lot of these decisions on what's popular via jersey sales, etc.... I have yet to see anybody wear these at the game (whereas I see a ton of the other 3 in various forms). They may slowly go the way of the all black Drayton jerseys...besides, no team needs more than 1 alternate color (the rest can be reserved for "throwbacks").
The ALT 2's add a nice modern look... and are the best IMO. All the jerseys are great though.. and the logo. All the Texans are nice... and the logo. Rockets jersey and logo are waaaay behind. Astros can handle LA. They started streaking against us in Anaheim, and barely won. 1) "Injured" Qualls costs us 2) They never faced Keuchel 3) We were +8 run-diff despite losing the series
