I feel like something is missing...

Wilbon is so butt hurt that Harden won Players choice MVP. He's acting like this was Kendrick Perkins that won the award. So ****ing disrespectful to Harden who was a legitimate MVP candidate and just as deserving of the actual award.

That's just hilarious at this point.

The next tweet was this one.

    <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Missing NBA season? This fan impersonates James Harden's signature moves just like you'd watch in the game. VIDEO: <a href="http://t.co/uknnURdU0Y">http://t.co/uknnURdU0Y</a></p>&mdash; NBA on ESPN (@ESPNNBA) <a href="https://twitter.com/ESPNNBA/status/623934422262411265">July 22, 2015</a></blockquote>

But to be fair they did post about him winning at it was posted at 9 in the morning.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">James Harden was named MVP over Steph Curry <a href="https://twitter.com/TheNBPA">@TheNBPA</a> Players Awards. Perfect example of why so many players wanted their own recognition ceremony.

What kind of professional media outlet posts some random fan video of a guy making fun of Harden? What is it about him and the rockets that ESPN just doesn't like?

Boycott ESPN. I'm serious. And tell them again and again to go @&$! themselves. There are are plenty of places for bball on the net.

Do you know how you affect ESPN the most or any other network? You Boycott their sponsors! quit buying from the companies who advertise on their station and you let everyone know about it. Hit'em where it counts, the pocketbooks!

Ok, let me say this again.

Players watch so, so, so much more game film than the media members. They understand the game so much better than media members.

Most media members were not pro players.
Most media members were not college players.
Most media members were not top-flight high school players.
Heck, most didn't even play any respectable high-school varsity basketball.

Hilarious anybody thinking that the media would have more credibility in this voting process. You can argue that both have bias; sure, but one actually understands the game much more than the other.

No, players don't just have a sample size of 4 games... Their job is to live basketball. Media's job is to write articles, give "hot takes", give news, and grab publicity.

The media in general has been extremely salty over the Players' Awards.

They really just sound like a bunch of haters.

It was funny seeing Wilbon fuming on PTI that the players dared to disagree with the media on MVP. Said something like "if they want to be taken seriously they need to pick the right guy!!" (which is, of course, whomever the media picks).

Makes sense. Who loses the most if the Players' Awards are seen as legitimate? The media, because it cuts away at the significance of their own awards and their role as gatekeeper for them. National guys land exclusive interviews with the likes of Steph Curry specifically because agents know they can frame perception for MVP, all-NBA teams, etc. If the Players' Awards take off, suddenly the players don't have to play the media "game" as much, and that's a major threat.

Wow who knew Deandre Jordan was the leagues most dominant defensive player. Guess he is the leagues best center as Cuban/Parson mentioned. But if the players say so...

Man Clippers are going to be tough to beat next next year, with

CP3 (top 3pg) Griffin (top3 pf) Deandre (BEST defender in NBA)

    with Pierce, Reddick, Lance, Crawford...

The Players Awards are better than I ever could have imagined. The butthurt is overflowing from the media, primarily ESPN.

For their 1st show/awards, it was really well done. I expected it to be a poorer production, but it was really not too bad for their first show. Good mixture of comedy, music and the awards all around.
