I kept telling you all that Woods might make the roster. Why not have the 15th guy be a guy with no short term value but tons of long term?

He's making the camp roster, but he might not make the final 15 if the Rockets sign Chuck Hayes and Jason Terry.

West Coast kid, went to UC Santa Barbara and grow up at Arizona.

My guess it will be either the Lakers or the Blazers.

No, the only reason he will join the Rockets training camp is because he needs to go through this process in order for the Rockets to protect him in the Vipers.

To protect a D league player not being called up by the other team, the team must have him at least in the training camp contract and waive him and resign him to a D league contract.

Each team can has 3 or 4 protected D league players.

Any player that ends up playing on this squad will not be getting post touches fed to them. They will have to create entirely off of rebounding, playing solid defense, running the pick/roll, and getting putbacks.

If we're throwing the ball to Alan ****ing Williams in the post during regular season and playoff games, that's an indication of something catastrophically wrong.

Besides. Neither will play anyway. Dekker and Harrell won't even play either. McHale hates rooks.

    Rotation will look like this:

    Lawson/Bev
    Harden/Thorton
    Ariza/Brewer
    D-Mo/Jones
    Howard/Capela

Woods plods and plays without much motor. He's tall, very skinny, not very strong. It's hard to imagine him turning into much. Hope he does. Maybe, about five years from now, he can be a solid NBA player-- I hope for us.

Bigger Al is a freaking rebounding machine. I think he and MonstaTrezz can both help us now, if only as standby call-ups from RGV.

Makes sense, neither guy will make the team so why not let Al find himself a better opportunity to maybe get some minutes. If it doesn't shake out he'll have a spot in the valley with the vipers along with Wood and Rice

One more player to hack? Also, I don't like to add player at PF/C who's game is below the rim.

Wood is essentially a poor man's version of Perry Jones.

Except Perry Jones is bigger and a better ball handler. Smoother and more explosive athlete than Wood too. Wood has the better looking shot, and can be a true 3 point threat IMO.

Not really seeing the similarity, other than both 6'11 and have questions about their toughness (for different reasons - one is due to size and other is personality).

Yeah, those two guys are of no consequence. Adding Chuck Hayes and bring Jet back would be amazing.

    This team is READY.

Chuck Hayes is one of the best lockerroom guys in the NBA and one of my favorite Rockets ever. This is exactly the kind of player who should be at the end of a championship teams bench rooting them on.

Great news about Wood. His upside is through the roof.
It really sucks about Williams though. Why can't they just sign both??
