Mostly just to talk about the Toyota Center and upcoming events but I'm sure other stuff will come up.
I hope he mentions the Griffin signing. "Attention NBA: We have Griffin. Surrender your championship rings."
I hear he is calling a press conference because he and Tim are unable to contact Clutch at the moment, so he is going to publicly plead for assistance in locating Clutch to shut down the thread containing the picture of Yao in the new uniform, and to ask the public to stop looking at it.
Lockdown! There's actually two of them now, one of which contains links to even more scandalous side view imagery, which may, in fact, cause Dr. Naismith to rise from his grave and smite the poor souls who don't avert their eyes in time.
I believe this thread has the highest humor per post percentage in history. Sorry, I guess I just brought the number down.
He will probably play 2 minutes of scrambled Arabic and then translate it as Al-Qaeda claiming responsibility for the Rockets' old jerseys. He will then announce the signings of Chucky Brown and Matt Bullard at which point the largest multicar accident in United States history will occur on the Southwest freeway.
Not a whole lot. Mostly arena updates and ticket (Rockets, Comets, concerts, and "other") distribution. The opening event will be Fleetwood Mac, a week before the Rockets preseason opener.
He talked about the new uniform a little. Said on October 12th, everyone would know what the new uni's looked like. He said they wanted to do a fashion show, but the league didn't have the uniforms manufactured yet, and that there wasn't much time to throw something like that together. j
I think that games, although technically a home game, is at Little Rock. I think the 12th is the 1st actual home game at the...I forgot...what's is the arena's nickname? Maybe it was actually September 12th? I could have sworn I heard Tim say something about releasing the jerseys in September, and I think once mentioned that day or some time around it.
We still plan on releasing the jerseys in late September, as soon as we can get them in from Reebok. What George was saying was that October 12 was the only date that he could confirm that people would see the uniform in action, because the other dates weren't nailed down yet. He was also (hint, hint) trying to encourage people to buy tickets to the preseason game when those go on sale. Sage advice that everybody should take to heart. Tim
I like the red and white, not so crazy about the silver. I would have liked a blue trim instead. I like the lettering. gotta be better than the pajamas
"late september" Sounds more like the week before Rockets training camp starts! Argh!!! I was hoping more for "early september". Oh well. Wish this upcoming season would get here already!
