During the Nintendo years, I had a recurrent dream that I was Link from the Legend of Zelda. I was trying to save Zelda in this chaotic world with burning buildings and wrecked cars. So I'm with her, trying to escape, and I see this school bus that had crashed into a pole. From a distance, I could see the dead bus driver's head, bloodied, lying on the windshield in front of him. The guy kind of looked like Lurch from the Addam's Family. So, as we're about to run away, I see Lurch's head slowly rising off the windshield as if he's back from Hell to kill us. I scream at Zelda to look at the busdriver. But before she does, Lurch's head quickly descends back into its original place as if nothing happened. Zelda, confused, just sees a dead bus driver and looks away. Then it happens again as Lurch's head slowly ascends. I'm terrified and start screeching like a little girl for her to look at the busdriver again. Same thing happens. After 2 more times, she finally ignores me and refuses to look at the busdriver. Lurch's head rises from the windshield. Bloodied and enraged, he gets up, opens the door, and starts sprinting right towards us. And I wake up covered in sweat. What's the weirdest dream you've ever had?
I was pouring myself a bowl of cereal and as I pour the milk in the bowl, I hear tiny shrieks of discomfort. I look down in my bowl and see hundreds of Japanese baseball players complaining about being doused with milk.
One dream I both love and hate is where I'm laying in bed covered up under my comforter and I'm dreaming my girlfriend is with me and we're holding eachother, and we're kissing, only to wake up and find my arms were wrapped around a pillow I mistakened for her, and I was smacking lips with the pillow sheet. I love the dream, but I hate waking up from it. It sucks especially because I don't see her as often as I'd like to.
The strangest dreams I've had have been the ones where I KNEW I was in a dream, like an observer or something, watching myself experience the dream... connected to it and yet detached at the same time. Obviously, it's hard to describe, but anyone who's experienced this will know what I'm talking about.
Is it the one where you're dressed in these large sun-god robes with thousands of naked women chanting your name and throwing little pickles at you?..... Why am I the only one who has that dream?
Yeah, I've had that happend a few times. It is pretty weird. I remember saying something, "Wait, this is a dream." And then someone else is like, "Yeah." And then I woke up. Or something like that. I think one time I was being chased by a werewolf. But for some strange reason, I could run really fast and jump really high. But then I stopped and thought about how amazing but then realized the werewolf could do and he bit me and I woke up. My dad seems to have the best dreams. One dream he had was of him playing basketball being really good, dunking on everyone. He also had another basketball game, but he was playing with girls. I'm assuming they didn't like WNBA girls either.
I took this great class in college, RC, about all forms of "Altered States of Consciousness". Dreaming is considered one of them. As an assignment, the professor had us write down whatever we could remember dreaming as soon as we woke up... no matter how trivial or incomplete. She said we would remember more and more of our dreams as time went on and that the ultimate payoff was realizing we were in dreams... much as I described. I had already experienced this, but I did the exercise anyway and found I remember more and more of my dreams and in a more complete fashion. You should try it.
I had one last night where I started making out with this gorgeous woman only to find that she tasted horrible. Weirdest one I've ever had involved a flying truck.
I used to have a recurring dream as a child that Slimer from Ghostbusters was flying around my ceilign fan. Neat!
i've mentioned this in another thread, but... mine usually involve zombies chasing me throughout malls or hotels, end with me being stuck in a dark corner or closet, and then waking up right before they hit/bite me. i'm sure that's from the long nights of resident evil on playstation and seeing "28 days later" three times already. one of my other dreams involves a monster that looks almost exactly like that gremlin on the airplane wing in "the twilight zone: the movie". same thing... ending up in a dark corner and waking up before disaster strikes. i usually don't get that much sleep, so it's easier for me to fall into a deep sleep when i do get it. don't they say that nightmares are more common in your rem sleep? all other non-nightmares that i have are like yoyao's... x-rated. sorry.
holy schit! i used to have a dream about slimer when i was a kid. do you remember at the end of the first ghostbuster movie when slimer flew into the camera towards the screen? well... all of my dreams used to end that way. strange. slimer was a cool mofo.
Let's see.. I once had a dream that I was watching MTV's Big Urban Myth Show, a segment talking about the myth that if you die in your dreams, you die in real life. I had watched it two days earlier, so that was sort of peculiar. I don't remember my dreams that much.
One night recently, I dreamt I was dating Emma Caulfield (Anya from Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and we went shopping. At some point during our shopping trip, I kept getting into fights with midgets. Eventually, Emma yelled at me for fighting with midgets. She said it could hurt her image if her boyfriend were constantly beating up on midgets.
hmmm... A couple of years after finding my spirituality I dreamt I was on my racing bike peddling towards this huge, gothic looking church on a hill by itself. The closer I got, the harder it was for me to peddle. I eventually just gave up...and woke up. My place of worship is now my home and in my heart. RR
