It's on page 1, post one of this thread. It's a 4 year contract in the 47 to 50 million range. A team has to have at least 12 million in cap room to pull off that kind of offer. Any contract he gets can be matched with the MLE covering years 1 and 2 with the remainder split out over the last two years (assuming a 4 year deal).
Morey is a moron. Rockets make it to the West Finals and Morey nukes it saying, "Time to rebuild!" WTF. KJ McDaniels, Terrence Jones and Donatas Montiejunas all have very limited upside and none have star potential.
are you on purpose trolling or just dense? When did Morrey say he was rebuilding? Do you have any idea what the concept of rebuilding entails? And as for the very limited upside, good thing we have you master scout to tell us the future and how to evaluate talents.
How exactly did the Rockets start rebuilding? We lost Josh Smith. Yeah it's disappointing, but relax man.
He's played 30 minutes total for the Rockets over 10 games (3 mpg FTW). Hard to see what a player has going for him when he is only played 3 minutes during garbage time. He must of had a hard time in practice or something because he couldn't crack the rotation.
Rep for you. Even though you made me feel a little dumb. *Edit: Crap, says I have to spread my rep around, like some disease. I'll try to hook you up when allowed.
There's a camp that has convinced itself that his lack of playing time is because he's trash at basketball, rather than because there were already a bunch of guys ahead of him in the rotation when he arrived. Here's hoping he'll have an opportunity to open some eyes. KJ and Capela would've been so much fun in SL. :/
I'm not Bima but the MLE is going to climb to 9-10 mil in 2017. And KJ will be locked up in 2017 and paid far below that price.
I don't think he's trash. But I also don't think he's worth obsessing over this much to the point where we're losing a key rotation guy like Smith. Also, you said it yourself. There are a bunch of players ahead of him in the rotation. And that isn't going to change next season. In fact, it'll get worse with Dekker and Thornton thrown into the mix. Now there are even fewer minutes available at the 2 and 3. Why go to all this trouble to resign a guy who'll likely be logging a bunch of DNP-CDs again?
but who knows what realy happened count? We can only speculate here and reach logical conclusions from the little info we have. We DO NOT KNOW what really went down with Smith. Maybe he didn't want to sign anyway unless he was guaranteed 30 mins a game, or being a starter. He negotiated and since he saw no solution he left to go to the Clippers who will give him playing time at SF. We really dont' know what happened. However Kj with all his flaws, is just a rookie. He doesn't deserve either the critisicm he receives here nor the blame for losing Smith. If he was drafted by the Rockets and locked up right now in 4 year contract everyone would be extremely excited about him.
I'm a KJ fan since he was sixer, even watched him couple of games and was shocked when sixers traded him to us for basically nothing. He has a great potential if given some minutes and obviously knows it.
