I've been screaming for CM help for the better part of 5 years, and we get Sweinsteiger and Schniederlin in the same window?!?

Ed Woodward's wiki is classic right now.

Enjoying the transfer window so far. Plenty of major transfer done and we're nowhere near done yet! Loving it.

Van Gaal is trying to get the team exactly the way he wants it. He didn't really get that last season, so I'm interested to see how he'll do. He's the type to buy players that he knows - wonder whether he'll also go all-out for Muller?!

Wonder what's going to happen with di Maria. Have read the tabloid rumours about a Cavani swap, which would be interesting. PSG were interested last season as well so it wouldn't shock me to see them make effort to get their man now.

Wijnaldum has signed for Newcastle - expect him to do well there. Hoping that he'll eventually make the step to a bigger club. He definitely has the talent, though I thought he'd be further along in his career by now.

Müller won't leave Bayern, him and Lahm already said they'll stay for the near future and possibly for their whole career.

Yeah, doubt Bayern would let him go. I would be shocked. Bet van Gaal would love to have him though. ManU looking like serious title contenders now. Promises to be an exciting PL season.

Double signing confirmed by the club! It seems like de Gea is staying too! Good summer for us so far, glad we have these players available for preseason. They'll need time to mesh.

Wonder what the starting XI will look like? I like to see something like this:

    ------------------de Gea--------------------
    Darmian-----Smalling-----Rojo-----Blind
    -----Schweinsteiger----Schneiderlin-----
    Mata--------------di Maria--------------Depay
    --------------------Rooney-----------------

Need a CB and a striker still. Don't trust Jones at all.

I don't know but I think Herrera played himself into the starting XI towards the end of last season. Also I'd rather have Shaw at LB than Blind.

I think Blind has played himself into the starting XI towards the end of last season too. I thought about putting Herrera in for di Maria and Young in for Depay but I really wanna see a attacking quartet of Mata/di Maria/Depay/Rooney. Mouthwatering.

Ugh. Man U is going to be excellent soon. I'm jealous of that squad.

Di Maria as CAM? Granted I didn't watch much of him at United last season but that dude has always been a winger, at least he was at Madrid and is for Argentina.

He played a lot of minutes at CAM for Madrid actually, I looked it up.

Ancelotti was the one who played di Maria at CAM. He was primarily a winger before Ancelotti came along.

    Bale----di Maria----Ronaldo
    ---------Benzema-----------

^^ Ummm I watched pretty much every Madrid game for the last 5 years and I don't recall Di Maria playing extensively at CAM/AM.. I'm not saying he can't play this position as I think we can all agree he's a very versatile player.

Prior to Bale's arrival most of his playing time was on the left side of the field as a winger on a 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3.. With Ancelloti's arrival (esp second half of 2013-2014), Madrid started playing a 4-3-3 with Di Maria as a left side mild fielder. He excelled at this position as he's endurance allowed him to run up and down the field and provide assistance in opposing's teams counter attacks.

This was their best line-up (4-3-3)
    Modric---Xabi--Di Maria
    Bale---Benzema--CR7

There have been reports that PSG are really close to agreeing a deal with di Maria. I don't know how reliable they are, but I would be very upset if United let him go now.

Why would he waste his talent there?
