Matthews didn't get max until AFTER DJ turned the Mavs down. If you are going to cite patterns, especially from just two data points, at least try to get them right.

Further, DJ NEVER said he was basing his decision on best chance to win a championship. He did say he wanted a bigger role on the team, and a chance to be the main guy. Your 'patterns' make that MORE likely, not less.

Chandler Parsons is a f'n nobody lol. Why is he even in the news. It isn't like he helped Dallas get anywhere. He will rot on that team and then be out of the NBA in the next 3-4 years max. If he never played for the Rockets half the people on here probably wouldn't even know who he is.

Well, I'll tell you, I'm smart enough to realize that (1) you care way more about Mark Cuban in this situation than you should, being a Rockets fan- but that's your prerogative; (2) you include 'he nor his agent' - so you actually do acknowledge that his agent should have contacted Cuban- or wait, maybe he did. That point hasn't been brought out; (3) I will freely admit I am biased against Mark Cuban- but I have plenty of reasons to be, being a Rockets fan. Primarily b/c it's always a double standard with Cuban.

He rags on other teams about treating players like assets, but he does the same to his own players.

He whines about fouls incessantly- and I mean, incessantly- yet I hear nothing from him during the several times when the Mavericks have benefitted from calls in their favor.

He judges other teams as being "not very good" yet he completely overrates his own players (see recent article where he compares Zaza to Dirk- I'm not kidding).:rolleyes::rolleyes:

He has no problem with someone like DJ not contacting the Clippers, yet he is incensed when DJ does this to him- does not matter if Cuban was calling him- I am certain Doc Rivers called DJ at least once- the problem is that you would never know b/c Doc Rivers doesn't have to broadcast every ****ing thing he does or says, unlike a certain owner in Dallas.

Oh, there's more, but it doesn't matter... believe what you want, and feel bad for Mark Cuban as much as you want. As someone who has signed several contracts with partner companies, verbal agreements mean absolutely nothing. And I won't even go into the number of times a client has guaranteed he/she will sign up for services, even setting up a time, and then never calling back. It does not bother me one bit b/c, until I get their money in my account, I don't start work and I don't count on any sales based on someone's word. Mark Cuban should ****ing have ****ing known better (props to Vincent Vega).

But I do acknowledge one thing that's most important- you DEFINITELY deserve to be someone who determines who's smart and who is not. INSERT A****LOADOF****INGROLLEYESHERE

Well, therefore you should think about it carefully before you do it. Let's say DeAndre is ahipped to e.g. Milwaukee overnight in a trade 1-2 years down the road. Who does sit in with then? I mean he is a free agent once every 5 years and he can decide. In between it's not his call. There are very few players that have a no trade clause in their contract.

I don't like Mark Cuban and have never liked the Rockets.
Having said that, DeAndre returning to the Clippers is bad for the Rockets.
Also DeAndre has the cl backbone of a wet paper sack. He is a wuss loser that isn't a grown man. Love to see Cuban strike out but everything he has said on the topic is accurate.

Man, my stance would be the same regardless of the owner. I'm not on Cuban's side per se... I'm on masculine's side, the side with nuts. Dodging phone calls when someone is trying to contact you is the complete opposite of being manly. Save that crap for people born with ovaries.

btw- I am laughing at DAL (Cuban and Parsons). I'm just saying Mark got done dirty.

Also... as many times as people call each other dumb, fool, idiot on these boards, you're actually talk noise to someone who calls you smart? Mmmkay. You wanna talk isshh to somebody?... Talk isshh to this supposed Rockets fan (Yao-level poster) who is happy about the Spurs being better than HOU.

Yao used to dominate him ... He couldn't do a thing on Yao. The fact that he is still making big money in NBA is a reflection of sad state of big man's game in the league these days.

Agree, there's no true centers in the NBA now....Yao was the last great big man....Dwight is close but a bit soft when it counted.

LOL I'd take Dwight any day over Yao. I enjoyed the Mac/Yao days but those injuries were something else. I also hated the fact that teams could erase him by executing a sound fronting defense. That super sucked.

Yeah but he could also come out to the elbow without not having to set a pick and knock down the jumper. You cant front somebody who wants the ball at the elbow.

If you want to talk about skills, theres no contest between Yao and Dwight; Yao wins hands down. Way too many skills. Dwights got athleticism, sadly no skills. Yao > Dwight. Forever and always.

Amen. Any somewhat intelligent basketball mind knows this.

Yao - amazingly skilled with touch and basically too big to play bball.
Dwight - amazingly athletic/strong but very very little skill or touch.
Hakeem - Take the best of both - GOAT

I don't believe DJ is very headstrong, but Ive posted before, I would take my time with a decision like the one he faced. You know pretty boy parsons and Cuban wined and dined him and the whole shebang. They got in his head and make Dallas sound better than LA...

When the shiny wore off and he realized what he agreed to he had a change of mind. LAC realized their mistake and decided not to make it again, all hands on deck to Houston to resign DJ.

The pictures tweeted from his house with the chair in front of the door and the clippers attitude tell me everything I need to know. They were pushing DJ to resign and didn't want anyone talking to him until it was done.

Had Dallas stayed in constant contact with DJ i doubt things would have turned out the same way.

Yes it sucks for the NBA and Dallas that players can agree to terms, then change their mind due to the moratorium, but those are the rules. The rest of the NBA knows what kind of pressure your agent, fans, media and teams can put on players, I am glad DJ made the decision he thinks is right for him. LAC is a better team for having him, DAL would have been insignificant regardless. He did both teams a favor.
