I love it. Terry's age and defensive liabilities from just being too damn old was exposed later in the year and playoffs. Thornton can create his own shot, is an attacking and penetrating guard, and he can knock down 3s. Boom. Done deal. Cheers to you Terry. Thanks for the good year. But yeah, we upgraded our back up SG for a slamming price.
2014.03.09 - Marcus Thornton Full Highlights vs Kings - 27 Pts, On Fire! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eIz-mz5adkM Other than Harden we had no one like this guy this year on the team
Last year, no one of this team except Howard and Harden scored more than 30 points in a game. Howard only achieved 30+ points once and it was against SAS when they rested everybody. Take out Howard's 32, and no one on this team scored more than 25 except for Harden, if I recall correctly. That cannot happen when everyone on the West has so much firepower. Well, we just got a player that could explode for 25+ on some nights. Thornton can get hot and remain hot for stretches. It should be fun to watch him play in this open offense. There will be times that he will shoot too much but if he can fit that Delfino role, I'll be extremely happy with this signing.
Solid pick up. If we had this guy this year who knows how many points he'd score being open due to Harden being double/triple teamed
Always need more shooters, and the price is right. But I have trouble getting worked up for a 2nd round pick who is now on his sixth team in six years!
I like it. Gotta be as deep as possible cus these injuries and what not. Plus creating off da dribble and knocking down shots is what my body wants for this team #peepuus
Love the signing, MARK MY WORDS, Marcus is going to be huge for us in the season and the playoffs. Kinda wish the situation on KJ gets resolved, so we can sigh Josh and then move on the PG front for Lawson or whoever else Morey has in mind.
I saw your link to this article, and I actually think you should make it a new thread, because it's an interesting topic to discuss. Like a lot of people, I just figured Ariza's bricking with us was just bad luck for us, but there seems to be a lot more to it - and it's really important for our offense. Anyway, I just thought it was buried in that massive cyberx thread and thought it would be nice to have a new thread on it.
