Day to day already. Wow! Capela is our most important Summer League player, what is wrong with him and Dekker?

The coaching and training staff need to take care of all of the players.

In that article, Alan Williams' father taught him how to avoid the Shaquille O'Neal effect--refs not calling fouls when opponents hack the big guy but calling fouls when opponents flop on him. (Dwight Howard should take notes.)

His father trained him to finish through contact by playing against him when he was younger. Then he taught Alan to freeze when he gets the ball in the paint.

From what I saw last night: Alan Williams might turn into something like this year's Tarik Black, with more of a knack for finishing. Christian Wood and Glen Rice are prospects. Will Cummings showed some impressive quickness. All look like worthy RGV projects, at least.

I like this kid. He Rebounds, block shots, plays defense, gets steals and shoots free throws at 75%. He is working on his 3 point shotHe is a little small but has decent wingspan. He would be a great replacement for Dorsey.

The kids a scorer down low. Has a nice arsenal around the basket. Not the most athletic guy but he knows how to box out for a rebound. 12 rebounds per game in college is not bad. Better than Harrell or Wood.

Do you think a player like Williams would develop more at RGV or by watching/going against the Rockets bigs everyday? Playing helps but sometimes slowly building up minutes and learning the ropes from the best can be just as beneficial.

Player development interests me and wondered what everyone's thoughts were.

Both but he comes in with a decent rebounding clip and would like to see what he can do against the big guys. He probably is a better option over Dorsey simply because he can shoot free throws.

He's better than Tarik Black or at least in college Black was never the rebounder and Williams is a much better scorer and again 75% ft shooter. That alone would allow him to be on the floor more than Dorsey and Black. Don't see him making the roster unless we release Dorsey but that's a possibility.

Agree, OMR. How nice it'd be to not have to watch Hack-a-Dorsey.

agree with this assessment, although it seemed like tariq is a bit taller and has more hops. tariq was also a decent defender in the minutes he got, not sure how alan would hold up against nba comp

in any case, i'll take alan over dorsey any day

As ridiculous as it is, yes I sat and watched summer ball last night. Williams has very soft hands, a powerful build and a sense what to do. I see a surprise here.

Personally i think it would be more beneficial for him to go up against the Rockets bigs on a daily. It would allow him to become more comfortable and more familiar with the team and the system.

Woods came from a horrible situation, the college he want to was a mess all around and he didn't help matters much since he didn't play D and was a black hole on O. As usual there were the typical warning signs of a slacker and coupled with the lack of strength and the blackhole O/no D mentality people probably wrote him off. With that said, draft express (my most trusted draft/analytics site) had him 20's and described him as lottery talent on paper, so the Rox getting first dibs on both him and Williams is kinda' ridiculous.

Once again Houston proves they have one of the best scouts in the league. Even Glen Rice doesn't look that bad, just needs to man up on D and he would be fine as a backup SG.

I actually thought there was a lot to like about last night's game. Cummings looked good and I'd like to see more of Livingston. Our bigs looked good too. Houston certainly has some good scouting. Can't wait till Sunday!
