Nicely encapsulated with that patented zboy spin. Why exactly did he average ~30minutes/game on the Rockets? Could it be that they thought he was a competent NBA player with a pick and roll/fast tempo game? No, that's impossible...
He was getting paid peanuts and played hsi ass off for a $25M contract. A faster way of losing money would be go from making 10+M to 2M a year after performance evaluation.
lol i'm not saying the decision by the coach was good or not. i was just surprised to see an article like that and thought everyone would enjoy it. you can try to son me again!
Zboy's other posts were fun to read. But for the last a year and half, he had been consumed by Jeremy Lin. Anyone mentioning Jeremy sets him off. He reads, watches, posts about Jeremy every single day. I believe more and more that Jerry Lin is a drug.
It's called getting stuck with a bad contract and trying to make it work. Rockets had been trying to get rid of that contract after just one season. We were lucky Lakers took that contract. You wanted him to sit on the bench with the kind of $$ he was getting paid? And it was not a spin.....You said he wants to succeed playing his style. He was playing his style in Houston. He himself said that Houston fits his playing style!! If it had worked out..... 1) Rockets would not be looking to trade him after just one season. 2) You would figure Rockets, looking for a PG now, would gladly sign him for 2M if they wanted to.
can you throw around some team name which you think would be positively impacted with the addition of Lin?
As a starter? Excluding tanking teams the only ones I can think of that don't already have a competent PG are the Bobcats and Mavs. The Mavs may be tanking, or may be adding Deron Williams, in which case they may be tanking after spending extra money to look like they aren't tanking. As a backup there are more, but I haven't been paying that much attention to where all the PGs have wound up after free agency. SA leaps to mind, since they lost Joseph and Mills is just a pseudo PG.
There is no Bobcats. Its the Hornets and they have already come out and said they want Jeremy Lin to run the second unit. Even if Jeremy Lin got a starting spot in Dallas, Rick Carlisle would bench him for either Devin Harris or Barea within a month. Remember, Parsons might have been doing the recruiting but Rick isnt a big fan of Parsons. Rick would be even less of a fan of Parsons once he brought his buddy on board to give Rick headaches from those typical Lin performances. As for Spurs mention. Really? Greg Popovich would hand over the offense to Jeremy Lin, even if its on the second unit? I would have to see it to believe it. I would have just liked it to happen to watch Jeremy Lin's and his fans' head explode after Popovich would go on one of his trademark tirades after a goof up. And believe me, Jeremy Lin would provide plenty ammo for him. Anyways, Spurs already got a young project in Macullum to replace Joseph. They would rather bet on a young prospect than a player in Jeremy Lin, who has had multiple seasons and decent playing time to prove himself but failed to do so. Spurs? Seriously? The guy just signed 2M a year contract with Hornets. Can we stay somewhere within the vicinity of reality here?
Good for him. He might have to make use of that soon enough. Glad to see you to continue to live vicariously off of his income. Anyways, I was just mentioning to the other poster about who lost a lot of money after recent performance evaluation since he brought it up. No insider information needed. Salary numbers were stated in Woj's tweet!
There were competent NBA reporters claiming interest, but as always it is unprovable garbage until someone signs somewhere. So provably he's on the Bobnets. Everything else is speculation and I'd just as soon wait and see what happens.
