Does hot coffee help a sore throat? I need my coffee to get through the day at work (even though its just been browsing forums all day) but I feel my throat itching
Starbucks has to be the worst franchise that I can think of. Coffee sucks, overpriced, it was cute when it first came out like 30 yrs ago.
2 spoonfuls of folgers stirred with soda. Amped up like a super saiyan. I did 3 spoonfuls, never go there again. I turned into a raging ape.
PGS pretty much nailed it with his list. IMO: Boomtown is clearly the best of the bunch in Houston. They also have a retail store in the Heights by the same name and their roastery is in downtown at their other operation - Honeymoon. Their espresso is amazing and all their coffees are also up there. Amaya is really good as well. Love their iced coffee and their espresso is pretty damn good as well. Java Pura has excellent coffee. Their espresso is not their strong point though. Greenway Roasters...I haven't tried these guys in a while, but I hear good things about em. Pearlland roasters is okay.
Yup. Glad you like it Which location do you go to? Would love to meet a fellow CFer and buy him a cup of coffee.
It's not that bad. Yes there are plenty of better coffee shops, but there are plenty of worse coffee shops also. I can't count the number of burnt shots I've had at places where the barista didn't know what the hell they were doing.
I prefer McDonalds over Starbucks. Starbucks has the most amazing marketing team ever, cause their coffee is absolute garbage.
Actually it is pretty bad. Of course you can always have worse. And I really wouldn't call the people working over at Starbucks "baristas" /rant
Depends on how strong you make it. I have about 3 cups in the morning and I'm as alert as I ever manage to get, ready for that mental workout! That's the sort of workout we're talkin' about here, right? ;-)-
I've heard from multiple people that Boomtown is the best. I really need to get around to trying their coffee. Have you ever tried beans from Fontana?
I go to the location under the Kinder building @ 1001 Louisiana. Just let me know when and I will swing by!
We are making some changes at that location over this weekend. Hopefully you'll love the coffee even more come Monday morning. I'll be there pretty much everyday next week around 9am.
