He'll be perfect for the Clips. He can be their backup PF/SF.

@mr_jasonjones: With players able to sign contracts the Kings have a "very strong" interest in free agent forward Josh Smith

@SpearsNBAYahoo: Kings remain interested in Rockets free agent F Josh Smith, a source said. Smith & new Kings PG Rajon Rondo were Oak Hill Academy teammates.

Smoove and Pierce added to the Clips would help that team's depth a ton. Lance I have doubts about but he may be useful, too.

Any of these teams have more cap space than the Rox?

How much money can the Kings and the Clippers offer to Josh Smith?

Why haven't we just signed him back? Why are we waiting on a bench scrub to sign a offer sheet?

    Sign Josh back morey.

Smoove would be the hero of the entire state of Texas if he told the Clippers yes and then signed a deal with Houston. Please let this happen, please!

They don't have to. Smoove can choose to go where he wants for whatever reason.

If Smoove thinks that, for example, the Clippers would have a better chance to win a title with him than the Rockets, then he might go there for that reason.

Clippers have the vet. minimum...unless they have an exception remaining? Not sure.

Josh is probably looking for more than the $2.5 Houston could be offering. I have no idea what they're offering or if they've even made an offer.

I'd take the money too if I was him so I can't blame him if he does leave but all things considered, including his previous two stops before Houston, he had a nice run here. He was ran off in Atlanta (they didn't want to re-sign him) and was ran off in Detroit (flat out cut him).

Sacramento? You'll get your money but that's a dysfunctional organization.

Clippers? The team you just helped beat? Not getting more money there but maybe he thinks they're better now? I don't know.

LOL if that actually happens, this will probably go down as the craziest offseason ever! Everyone prepare for Emoji Twitter war part II.

Quick someone DM Josh on Twitter, Instagram or whatever and tell him to do that!

Yup. These are his choices (that have been reported):

    Clippers
    + Chance to win
    - Not much money
    - Playing time behind Griffin

    Kings
    + Money
    + Significant playing time
+ Being with his friend (Rondo)
    - No chance to win

    Rockets
    + Chance to win
    + More money than Clippers
    + Significant playing time
+ Being with his friend (Dwight)
    - Less money than Kings

I think if that were the case Smith would have signed somewhere else by now.

Smith really felt like he belonged in Houston in his interviews. I hope he stays.
