Where are people getting this backup to the backup nonsense? If you really think he's backing up Brian Roberts or whatever his name is, then I don't know what to tell you. Lin may not be very good and is a complete idiot for taking this contract to play for a bad team, but having a lower salary than another guard on the team (Roberts) doesn't mean you'll be backing him up
not sure why people are acting like this is surprising? lin was one of the worst starting point guards on one of the worst teams in the league. he's done being a starter, even for a bad team. his performance in the playoffs vs. blazers showed he's not even good enough to be a backup point guard on a good team either. only thing left for him is to be a backup point guard for a bad team. "future steve nash" (as labeled by delusional lin fans) to journeyman scrub making 2 mil a year. just like i said would happen and then was flamed by LOF's.
