Say the Rockets wave Hakeem and Miami picks him up. Do they sign him for some type of 1-2M exception for the remainder of the year, or is that a calander year, or is that for next year too? The Heat would pay a prorated vets minimum for the remainder of the season. Anything for future season(s) would have to negotiated for this summer and would need to meet normal salary cap guidelines.
