    Parsons/Matthews: the best 2/3 punch in the league. Or at least a top 15 2/3 punch in the league.

    Get ready, NBA. The Mavs two best players (Dirk is done) are both guys coming off major surgeries who were both role players on first-round-and-out teams last season.

    I think Cuban rests both guys longer than medically (maybe all season) necessary and still goes for the tank this season. Let's hope he at least helps Dirk go somewhere he can come off the bench chasing anothe ring. The guy deserves it.

    He sure does,

    his contract is 2+1, final year is player option, hence one of the main reasons the Rox did not match.

    If the Mavs will lose DJ, they will never be able to recover from this at least 7-10 years.

    I was referencing a blog posted here on CF during the Rockets-Mavs series by a guy who claimed to be a Mavs fan from Houston. He said that Rockets fans' gloating made him ashamed to be a "Houstonite" - meaning, of course, that the blogger was not from Houston and made the whole thing up to make people dislike Houston and/or feel sorry for the Mavs.

    And yes, I spend way too much time on this forum.

    Yes. I always felt like he was gonna opt out of the 2nd year and go to any Los Angeles team anyway. His fake attitude and personality fits seamlessly with Hollywood.

    If Cuban gives in and goes full tank(i.e. trades Dirk), then maybe they can be back in the playoff picture in 3 years. He has to be willing to go all the way though like Seattle/OKC did when they stockpiled Durant, Westbrook, Harden, and Ibaka. I just don't think he has it in him.

    this just tells me how far the center position has fallen. hard to imagine the move of a player dj's caliber could be the biggest drama for the offseason even just 10 years ago.

    i know dj is a houston native. but wtf,,, screw him for being a clown. :)

    if DJ goes back to the clips there's nothing good about it if you're a rockets fan. this supposedly rift bw the two won't be as big of a deal as the media is making out to be if they're winning. the addition of pierce at the sf position instead of barnes and stephenson off the bench isn't a good thing for the other west teams.
