Well it's a nice vid and all, but if that is what he's capable of then let's put him on the floor asap.
Is there a bit of gamesmanship here? I'm surprised he hasn't accepted an offer by now. I know his value is hard to nail down but if you are the Blazers, why not make a big offer to KJ?
I'm amazed that teams are all of sudden interested in him. If he is worthy of a 3, 4, 5 mil a year contract then someone should have picked in the first. GMs really seem to manage crisis to crisis.
It's the power teams have with restricted free agency. An offer ties up cap space you could use to sign an unrestricted FA. Teams will wait until the last crop of UFAs sign before making offer sheets. That and talk Sign and trades.
Our qo is peanuts. He would never ever accept it. So wahtever happens right now is normal and no gamemanship.
Morey just signed Harrell to a 4 year deal. That means he used part of the MLE. Now we can't match any offer for KJ.
i disagree, where did you see that, Corey brewer can hit corner 3s in a decent rate, i see only dunks and screen cuts to the basket from KJ's highlight, enlighten me on it
Hopefully we match, honestly I think KJ at the MLE will still be an ok signing, his injury really tanked his stock the dude is a good defender and athletic finisher right now and will only be better. At only 22 years old he has all the time in the world to be an upgrade over Ariza and Brewer.
NBA teams never offer a lot of money to a second round draft pick who got a grand total of 33 garbage minutes on a good NBA roster. And you can make an argument that Philly last season did not have an NBA roster.
Neither of them really hit the 3 at a decent rate but Brewer is even worse than McDaniels at hitting the corner 3 specifically. KJ McDaniels hit the corner 3 at 33% on one side and 20% on the other, Brewer hit the corner 3 at 31% on one side and 22% on the other. Right now they are both players who struggle shooting the 3 and thrive in transition. KJ has potential to develop beyond that, but Brewer is pretty much what he is at this point.
Of course, before someone beats me to saying it, there is a small sample warning with KJ's numbers from the corner as he only shot 29 total 3's from there all season, he prefers shooting from the left wing where he hit 37.7% on 61 shots
i don't know if this video has been posted already, and frankly i don't care. the fact that we can resign this guy for less than we signed corey brewer should excite everyone. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/5w8wAtjgxT0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Imagine Harden and Smoove lobbing to this kid. Clutch City would be the new LOB CITY with Dwight, KJ, Nick, Capela, Harrell, Brew, Dekker and TJ on the team.
If KJ's floor is Corey Brewer, then why did we just sign Corey Brewer? And why was KJ behind Brewer in the rotation the whole time he was here? This better not f up re-signing Josh Smith.
