What's to debate here? People suck, and there's terrible ones no matter the culture, ethnicity, or religion. Thankfully the good outnumber the bad. The problems come when the bad are allowed to stay unchecked in power.

 

Well, Ferguson, Baltimore and Treyon Martin were all 100% scientifically proven to have been caused by race and race alone, so why isn't this also race related.

 

I get the feeling that people who think this event is thread-worthy fundamentally misunderstand why Trayvon, Ferguson, Baltimore, etc were big deals.

if the mob was white and the victim was black, would there be protests, looting, Obama opining on the issue, Reverend Jackson and Al Sharpton on the scene, and nationwide coverage about race relations in America?

If Zimmerman was arrested and trailed on the spot then it would have never made the news folks.

 

It's not really over anyone's head, it's only a big deal when you can spin the story into some kind of racist act, which means black victim and white assailant or assailants.

Right, because the police report said he was a white guy and if he would have lied about his name they wouldn't have written down that he was a white guy and the fact that he stalked and killed an unarmed teenager in the dark wouldn't have been a story. Believe that.

Bobby maybe if you cut down on the 16 posts per day you can put more thought into each post which may quite possibly raise the quality of your posts. I know you're a volume shooter but yeah, a thought. Of course every volume shooter thinks he's a good shooter but you have travelled into deep irrational confidence territory.

The fact still would have been that a black youth died and the person that killed him went home that day. That was actually the very first step into why it became a national story. All the other stuff about the odd stalking, the hoodie, and all that came after Zimmerman talked with the police for a few hours about killing someone and going home.

There are other white on black crimes yearly. According to your logic they all should be as big as Trayvon Martin right? I think during that entire thing there were several stories of interracial violence (likely news just trying to get hits) and one case where a white man shot some black teens for their music being too loud. You know what happened? The shooter was arrested and faced a judge. No one protested. I mean people talked about it but it was not even close to the status the Martin case got. The main issue, the first step into it being a national story was that Zimmerman killed a person and went home that day. People PROTESTED to have him face a judge. Not have a chat with the police and go home later.

You see, it's not a black vs white thing, I never said it was. You are saying that actually. It's a "Why can't we have equal justice." thing. Simple as that.

 

If you want equality in the media in reference to this situation... Then go bytch to the white folks who run the media.

Why are you calling the people who where standing around watching savages when the white guy had every opportunity to get away... He didn't want anyone to break it up from the looks of it.

 

People shoot other people in self defense fairly often and almost always go home the same day. It's only a story when it can be twisted into a racist angle.
