Grant wouldn't have helped this season. We signed Bev back so at the very least we have a PG. No sense in trying to acquire a pg unless he complements Bev or can start over him. Williams isn't our guy....
Give Morey till the start of the season to judge. If he lands a PG or 2nd playmaker via trade no harm done. Now if we can't land that than this offseason will be an utter failure. Give him a chance first.
Are there any opportunities left for Houston to get a PG if Smith and KJ stay in Houston and Terry leaves? Possibly go after Brooks or Lin. Everyone else seems to be gone.
Williams would have been a great addition. He is a playmaker. Would have been great off the bench. We have zero people outside of harden that can create their own shot or set up others. MO would have been great especially for that contract
it doesn't matter if he would be a good addition or NOT. He wasn't an option. He went where he wanted to go. We didn't miss on anything because we never had a chance with him.
But like you just said in your other post, there is still plenty of time to make other moves for guys that are better players and better fits. If anything this should tell you that either Williams only wanted to play for the cavs or that morey has plans for a better fit for PG.
I know and I'm okay waiting, you made it seem like MO wouldn't have been a good fit from your post when in my opinion he would have been an excellent fit . Sorry if I miss understood your post.
I guess no one watched David West last year. He really wasn't good. He is old and it showed in his game. He is a good get for a team like SA strapped for caps
Who says the Rockets can't acquire a PG, they have as many highly regarded trade chips as any team in the league. Dekker was the BPA on the board, it's a no-brainer to take him.

Ok wait till the playoffs starts next year and we have no true point and try to play street ball again. Nba teams will be better prepared on how to guard us and we think it was rough this year wait till next year. Morey shouldn't have been trying to acquire Aldridge the guy had picked the Spurs already like last year. Then he shouldn't have put all his eggs in one basket expecting some hyped up Euro point guard to sign with us instead of Real Madrid. Two years in a row we F ourselves during the summer last summer he rebounded well off the F up but this summer we won't... can't be making the same mistakes twice. This team is second round bound and out.

Awh for the love of.....what is it with FA? Does everyone just forget how this works? Ok let's do this again....we are over the cap which means our only options are: 1) renounce Brewer/Terry/Bev/smith/KJ in order to get $7-9m in cap space. Who do you go get in this FA for that much that's worth giving up all those players for? 2) stay above the cap, keep the rights to our guys, try to resign them and use our MLE at $5.5m. Who do you sign with that MLE? You can spend all that on one of these FA's or use it on some combo of Smith/KJ/Harrell? These are your only options....none of that is impacted by pursuing LMA. We are in the SAME position we were before LMA. So seriously.....what would you magically do different here that morey should have done???
I hope so. This isn't a video game. Rockets need to acquire a point guard before the season starts that is a playmaker. This guy needs to gain chemistry with the team in training camp not in February after the trade deadline. Do what is needed to have a championship team. Your point guard is crucial especially in today's nba when you don't have 3 superstars. We can't just hope Patrick Beverley stays healthy...
It's beyond comprehension how someone believes that "streetball" can take a team up to the WCF. amazing.
