if durants snubs us, maybe harden's other buddy westbrook will come the following summer. otherwise, this list doesn't look so great..

I can agree to that. Either Lawson or Lowry would this team a complete and formidable roster. Let's see some fireworks. #soon

    Barbosa returns to GSW.

    1-yr, $2.5M deal.

See, that actually troubles me more than the Spurs. San Antonio is a big question mark. They're relying on some really old players, they're thin in the backcourt, and they have no true center. The Warriors now have somehow managed to return last year's entire roster despite being way over the cap. Even David Lee still hasn't been moved. You look at their payroll along with what the Cavs are doing and we may be entering a new era where if your owner isn't willing to incur at least some luxury tax bill, you can't compete for a title.

We not picking up Lowry or Lawson it will be Mo Williams or some backup we aren't talking about.

I think Les showed he was ready to spend last off-season b/c IIRC if we had acquired Bosh, we were going to match Parsons' offer from Dallas. That would have put us knee deep over the tax line IIRC.

We'll never know. Everyone assumed they were gonna match Parsons once Bosh signed, but we never really got a chance to find out. Then again, maybe we're really not entering a new era. Maybe this is just a temporary thing where some owners(namely the one running title contenders) will incur the tax for one year and then when the cap goes way up next summer, it won't be a concern anymore. I guess we'll find out over the next few years.

So the fact that TD plays center for most of the last decade I guess doesn't really count....

He doesn't start at center for them. He does finish a lot of games there, but now he has to play at the 5 the entire time. West, Aldridge, and Diaw are all PFs. If the Spurs run into the Grizzlies in the playoffs, that'll be a problem.

    Um?

Normally 2nd round picks ARE signed to the minimum. Minimum contract over 2 years, when that time is up, they are RFAs.
Morey does it the abnormal way ever since Landry, 2 years with 2 years after that non-guaranteed, each as options (ie, he mimics a first round draft pick contract in the length). But to go beyond 2 years requires use of a portion of an exception.

Splitter is a bigger loss IMO than being considered. Baynes, too.

I expect Diaw to play some 5; if Aldridge does, as well, then, the entertainment value may come to the forefront.
