It was a theft of beer, most likely under $50 dollars which means it was a Class C misdemeanor. He would have been issued a citation and released most likely.
Actually at 0:57 it looks like she pulls her taser at the same time he pulls his gun. She then switches to her gun.
Additionally, this is why I wear a body camera. Throws all room of doubt out the window. Sucks to have to take anyone's life but justified none the less.
Next time you get pulled over for speeding why don't you ask the officer to put handcuffs on you while he is at your window, because a class c theft is the same level of offense as a speeding ticket.

It's amazing to me that police departments everywhere aren't paying for body cams. It's one thing that should be budgeted for, if at all possible.
Other sites reporting the story. The guy was a recovering alcoholic. He was divorced and lost his job. I guess he just figured life wasn't worth living. RIP.
