Until / unless we sign Smith, Jones is not expendable.

    Beverley / Prigioni
    Harden / Johnson
    Ariza / Brewer
    Motie / Jones / Papa
    Howard / Capela / Dorsey

    Dekker, Harrell in D-league

Is our current roster, if we simply dump Jones without resigning Smith we'd be screwing our selves. Lets wait to see what happens with Smith first before going around thinking Jones is as good as gone.

D-leaguers still count against the roster.

I'm very happy Bev and Brew are back. Now Moreys biggest test will be getting Harder another playmaker otherwise we are in the same boat as last year

TJones is an asset not a liability, don't forget that he's only 23 and his production and low cost make him a bargain, and if we don't re-sign Smoove he becomes even more important, so yeah don't need to "dump him" unless we get another asset in return.

While I did use this language "didn't improve" I did adjust my win total based on another year together and less injuries to 58-59. I will take that win total.

I really do think based on our three , layup , free throw analytics driven offense that we are hurting ourself by not having a dead eye. Too bad Troy Daniels ended up being a royal strike out. Wonder if DelFino has anything to offer.

I just don't see the need even if we don't sign Smith personally. DMo and Jones would be fine if we can't get LMA. I wouldn't want to give up so much for Faried.

Sign and trade circumvents the cap. In respect to a LMA trade we are allowed to take back 5 million additional salary above what we send out. So in order to sign LMA to a 20 mil deal we would have to send out 15 mil in salary. Hence the need to include Ariza.

All of this work regardless of signing Brewer and Bev except for nearing the apron or tax penalty. As Bima stated with the salaries as they are, and signing LMA to a max salarry we still remain under the apron even after we use MLE.

The only thing that is certain is Morey has a lot of moves to make. 12 people under contract and we still have to sign Montrez and a backup pg.

He was the second worst defensive big man in the playoffs this year for any team.....he hasn't made any significant progress as a player since his rookie season. PLUS we drafted a PF and picked another one up as an undrafted FA.

Why keep Jones around wasting a roster spot? He's not a quality starter or bench player for a contender.

I know some see this as "Jones hate" but it's just reality. He's not really good at anything and he's taking up a roster spot that could be used on someone with more of a future with the team.
