ohh, I see. So how do we get LMA without losing Ariza then? Wouldn't LMA, D12, Harden, and Ariza amount to $66 million already?

He's wearing a red shirt. Maybe subconsciously he likes the Rockets.

We would basically have to strip the entire roster, aside from Harden, Howard and Ariza. There really isn't a way to get him here that doesn't involve trading Ariza, or dumping everybody else.

San Antonio is losing a lot of key players to get Aldridge. That would suck if they fail to get Aldridge. That would end the Spurs great dynasty run.

Losing Smith to the Spurs would be the absolute worst thing to happen to us. Not sure if serious

LOL this is weird. If the Spurs needed to talk to Aldridge a 2nd time then maybe they weren't a lock like some of these reporters have said. Doc Rocket looking good so far, but something doesn't add up.

Something else to keep in mind:

We may be the only team that has to go the SnT route, but we are also likely the only team willing to do a SnT with Portland.

All we really need to make this work is cooperation from Brewer and a 3rd team. Assuming we can get someone NYK to play ball, we need to get to $13.8 in outgoing to trade for LMA.

    $4.8 - Papa
$4.7 - Brewer (his cap for trade purposes is the lesser of his last salary or 50% of new salary)
    $2.5 - TJones
    $1.7 - Prigioni

That's just $20k under $13.8, and we can throwin Nick Johnson if the cap comes in a little higher.

So then the obvious question would be why would NY and PORT work with us?…and Morey has an answer. We have the rights to Llull, rights to Gentile, rights to Montrezl Harrell, all of our future 1st round picks, and the NYK 2nd round pick, and multiple Portland 2nds. We could trade all of that, and still be able to have the following:

    Beverley
    Harden / McDaniels
    Ariza / Dekker
    Aldridge / DMo
    Howard / Capela

and we have a portion of the MLE leftover from signing McDaniels to go after some help at PG.

It does work. We need help from Brewer and SAC/NYK/someone else, but it's certainly possible.

More likely Philly helps us and we give them DMo as oayment for doing so.

Replace DMo with Smith in your lineup. Then, depending on how mucb McDaniels gets offered, we would still have around half the MLE to play with.

Possible, but Brewer has to want to go there. Not sure he would be interested in participating in what the 76ers are doing.

We know NY has met with him….so they're interested.

I'm yet to see any NBA trades that should concern the Rockets as of YET..I think Morey got a few tricks up his sleeve on top of it all

Haha….I went to all that trouble building that LMA to Houston sceario, and literally minutes later Brewer signs.

They've agreed. Bird rights player so I believe Aldridge is still in play. Or a SnT could still be in play.

Hmmm unless Morey whispered something in Brewer's ear...3 years 24 mill sounds like highway robbery and really not a "long term" deal which Corey wanted. Wondered what changed..turned out too easy =)

Could be they didn't nail it as well as reported during the first meeting.

Then again, maybe the first meeting went so well that they need a second to just hammer out the details.
