Yeah, I think so too. It'll be the same situation in Cleveland. They're going to try to go for it all on Dirk's last leg.

I know a lot of people have said that, but which other Free Agents would we have been pursuing? There really wasn't any top-tier free agent PG's this year.

And while we haven't signed anyone, we also haven't lost anyone either. If LMA says he wants to come to Houston, we make the trades necessary to sign him. If not, then we try to sign our guys back and then look at trying to get a PG (Collison? Lawson?) through a trade.

    Why?

Dwight Howard easily outplayed him during our playoff series last year.

James Harden>>>>>>>than anyone else on their team.

Sign with Dallas? So sorry, not in the budget. Unless LMA wants to sign for 4 million dollars, and Dallas still has no point guard.

The Southwest Division is going to be a blood bath this coming season.

Is this even a Thing? If so, why doesn't every team just go over the cap to sign as many FAs as they want?

SAS at this point I think has gotten worse. Lost Belinelli, Splitter and Baynes. Don't have a Center.

Dallas, even with Jordan, I think has gotten worse. DJ is definitely an upgrade over Tyson Chanlder, but they don't have a PG, Matthews isn't as good of a playmaker as Ellis is, Parsons is coming off major knee surgery and Dirk is a year older and year slower.

NOP, Memphis and Houston have basically just kept their same guys.

A lot can still change in free agency. And the Southwest Division is typically a bloodbath. But, at least for now, it doesn't look like next year will be any more daunting than this past year was.

It's still in flux. The Spurs could still get Aldridge which would make them better. The Rockets could still lose some or all of their free agents. The Grizzlies got better. And the Pelicans will be better as Davis continues to develop.

Yes. Cleveland's payroll will be about $110 this year.

Also, taxes. Cavs will take a huge luxury tax hit. They believe they can win it all this upcoming season, so they think it's worth it.

    Kevin Love - $22
    Kyrie Irving - $14.8
Tristian Thompson - $16 (If they do bring him back like they planned
    Iman Shumpert - $10
    Anderson Varejao - $9.7
    Mozgov - $5
    Mike Miller - $2.8
    Lebron James - $22

Total: $102.3 million. Only 8 players.

That's without Brendan Haywood's $10.5 million they still have on the books.

    Am I missing something?

They really don't need a top tier PG. Just someone good enough to start over Bev. Ive grown tired of the waiting too. This rarely ends well for the Rockets.

You can't go over the salary cap to sign other teams free agents, you can only go over by trading or retaining your own players.

I thought this was common knowledge.

Your missing the fact that all those guys played for them last year. You can go over the cap to resign your own guys.
