[ESPN] Sources: Aldridge to start free agency with Lakers, Rockets

Bosh would have been a great deal for us last year. We could have kept Parsons and had Bosh for around 4 years and 80-90 million (don't remember the exact number).

Now, we would be forced to lose Ariza and probably some other players in order to have Bosh for 4 more years and around 100 million. Circumstances changed, he's not a good deal anymore.

The potential is definitely there for a SnT to Houston without involving Ariza.

Trade Papa, Prigs, TJones, and DMo to Portland

 

This sounds like a good idea. I'm a really big fan of keeping Ariza

Would we be able to make a decent option to Smith so that he could be out backup PF if we were losing both DMo and Jones?
Would we be able to make a decent offer to hopefully keep Beverley?

With DeAndre going to the Mavs, are the Mavs now in the race for LMA?

Even if they got Deandre, I'm not sold on Dallas being any good next year. They lost their bench this year. They lost their leading scorer in Ellis (Matthews is a better defender and shooter but not as good of a playmaker). We aren't sure about Parsons' knee- did he have microfracture surgery? And Dirk is going to be a year older and have a year worse defense.

Well, the Rockets haven't really done anything at all in free agency this year yet, but they haven't lost anyone yet either. They were clearly not as good as the Warriors last year and have some catching up to do, but they are close.

Besides that, it looks like the Western Conference might be getting worse?

LAC- got Stephenson and Pierce but lost Deandre Jordan (as well as Hawes and Barnes). IMO, net negative.

Portland- Lost Batum, Matthews, most likely Aldridge, Lopez and Afflalo.

Mavericks- Lost Tyson Chandler but upgraded to DJ. Lost Rondo (probably a positive) but also lost Ellis and Al Farouq-Aminu. Plus Dirk looked old in last year's playoffs and will only be older.

San Antonio- Lost Belinelli, Splitter and Baynes. And their old guys will be a year older. Might still get Aldridge? But I'm not sure who they are planning to play at Center.

 

Idk but this is looking more & more like the Bosh situation. All FA's we could've been looking at sign with other teams, while we wait on a one superstar to make up his mind. Meantime we have no pg, Bev's a FA, Brewer's a FA & so is Smith. We could miss out on LMA AND our guys from last year smh

 

There is no doubt that he will go over the cap to get LMA.
