Some interesting thought brought up in here. Rockets get Woj'd as a contender for Lamarcus instantly lose the upper hand in a sign in trade. So is there a way we don't lose Ariza? I think he has to be kept.
Yeah, I wouldn't count us out either. Media was heavily pushing Dwight to Golden State and look what happened. However this situation has been different. We aren't even being mentioned. Nothing against us and nothing for us. Personally, I think he's torn between San Antonio and Houston. Phoenix doesn't make sense. Would Dallas have the cap space after signing DeAndre? Spurs make the most sense in terms of what he wants. Lets be real, if he came here we'd have to fill the holes left in our roster. If he went to San Antonio, they'd already be complete. Parker, Green, Leonard, LMA, Duncan. If he's sold on the analytics, playing with H&H, then he'll come here. If not, oh well. Also, look out for the Rondo situation. If things go well and he joins Sacramento, that's one less trade partner for Lawson... If Bev & Brew give us a trade exception, we can acquire Lawson & W. Chandler, then get a PF via the second trade exception..
Exactly, that is the whole point of trying to keep everything on lock down. And that is why we haven't heard a peep about the Rockets.
I believe Bima has a scenario where they keep Ariza. If we can S&T Beverley (or someone, but it'd most likely be Beverley) for the correct amount of money.
Depends on the contract we offered. It's probably Ariza or the whole Bench though. But, if we sign Aldridge and trade the bench (papa, Dorsey, Prigs, Jones, Johnson, maybe Capela), and we resign Bev, McDaniels, Brewer, and Smith, we'd still have a solid roster and have DMo coming off the bench. I'd also like to sign Beno Udrih to come off the bench.
I hope Lamarcus makes his choice by Sunday so things can get going again Monday morning. Make us proud, DM
How were we close yesterday to now even getting mention at all now !! There's something they don't know
yeah, i think there are ways for them to create the space without having to give up Ariza, but hopefully they can work out a sign and trade, which is probably the best scenario for both Houston and Portland. I see portland going young and building around Lillard.
Theoretically, we can send Jones + D-Mo + Papa + Dorsey + Prigioni + Johnson + Dekker(can't be traded until Aug) to the Blazers.

Two days ago* Prior to the conclusion of the Suns' meeting, after which Woj updated saying Suns were neck & neck w/ the Spurs and never mentioned the Rockets again.
