Thinking about it logistically... it can't leak to the media that Aldridge wants Houston. That would give all the leverage to Portland in any S&T talks.

    This is ignorant.
McHale knows quite a bit about basketball and understands players and what they can and cannot do about as well as anyone.

If that's the case .... then why do we have this thread ?!

I tend to agree with your statement but I'm in the minority ... so many hanging on the every post of frauds.

Waiting on LaMarcus (but by most reports, aren't in)

    "Zero discussions" with Beverley

"Aren't really in the mix at this time" for Brewer

And same for the rest of the Rockets free agents (Nothing on Smith(SAC?), Terry, McDaniels(Reportedly a dozen teams interested but no offers yet)

...but no way Daryl is sitting there

    waiting on LaMarcus.

    So...???

Seriously though, it would put the Rockets in a disadvantageous position if it came out in the media that Aldridge wants Houston.

Not sure what to make of a second meeting requested by Spurs??

If they were favs like everyone says they are....

    1) He would have committed already.

    2) Maybe Pops is being extra cautious and does not want second thoughts creeping in into LMA's mind.

Or maybe.....just maybe....he has told Rockets he wants to come to Houston. Which is why not a word is coming out of Rockets team and they are letting dust settle with their own FAs.

It really is creepy quiet from Rockets.

Also, since Dwight and LMA are friends, maybe he has already told Dwight his intentions one way or the other, and Dwight did not feel it was necessary to be in LA. Even this could go both ways.

Or maybe LMA is headed to Real Madrid to play with Lulz.

That would make sense as to why Lulz wants to stay in Madrid.

Why would there be discussions with Beverley?

This is what I'm clinging to. The less the media is talking about houston, the more I start to believe ...."so you're saying there's a chance".

I didn't say there necessarily should be.

Rockets tell their RFAs to go get an offer and bring it back. Then they'll decide.

No doubt McHale is articulate and intelligent about the game. But when it comes to the analytics of how Lamarcus can help this team I hope Morey was doing the talking.

I'll tell yall how to avoid the stress many in here are feeling......realize that there are two likely options out there for the Rockets and either one of them is not really a bad thing.

1 - They manage to get Aldridge which would be nice
2 - They don't get him, and resign their own guys and add a piece or two thru trades.

There is always the possibility that they miss out on both Aldridge and their own free agents, which is really very unlikely since they have right to match and go over the cap to resign their own guys....but missing out totally isn't as likely as the two above options.

I may not have faith in the government or in religion...but Morey has managed to come out of the offseason with better teams in almost every year he has been here, so Im fine with sitting back an waiting to see what happens.

The only stress I feel is having to deal with the inevitable trolls that keep popping up in here.

Can we lock this thread up? And have only Cyber post on it? Then we can have a reaction to CyberBombs thread.

Yep. The other teams involved have max space to sign him (Suns can trade Kieff for S&T Tyson Chandler and Spurs have a slot as well). The fact that we haven't heard a word about the Rockets is only a positive, especially when you factor in that we haven't talked to our own FAs at all.

We don't have the right to match brewer and smith though right? Those are the two most important FAs on the team

As I previously mentioned, I want to see us get multiple trade exceptions than over pay for our own guys. Yes, chemistry is very important, but knowing Morey, he's going to be very active at the deadline and in order to get Durant, we need assets.

We have assets but not very attractive assets. Getting guys like Wilson Chandler or Kevin Martin (I know he's unlikely but its just an example) to package with D-Mo/others and picks could be attractive to Oklahoma City or (if Melo becomes available) New York..
