I might be in the minority but I think Webber is going to stay in Sacramento or go to NY, that's it. I would rather trade for Rahim, and hopefully dump Reeves on Chicago for a low draft pick, and go after Mutombo or draft a good center and work with a front court of Rahim, Mo, and that center. I just think that Webber is a pipe dream. What can the Rocket offer him? Money? The Kings have that. A title shot? The Kings and Knicks and several other teams are ahead of us on that.

my gut feeling is if the Kings make the Western Conference Finals, which is a possibility, then he will re-sign with them.

HP is right. About the SF thing I mean. Landing SAR will NOT solve all our problems. It will just solidify our backcourt rotation as possibly to best in the league. 5 excellent players at 3 positions, which would be great for the backcourt.

But are frontcourt would STILL be frail. We really need some effective bodies close to the basket. If it comes down to it do you take a PF over a SF? Absolutely. You hate to give up SAR, but if a scenario like this came around, I'd do it.

You can't have your cake and eat it too very often in this world.

(The thought that there's a remote remote chance that we could somehow get SAR and Webber in the same season makes me wet my pants...)

I would much rather have Webber than Rahim so I would have no problem signing and trading Rahim for Webber. However, I would not take on Reeves and Rahim in the deal b/c the odds of pulling off a sign and trade of such humongous proportions is quite low. If it doesnt happen, the Rockets would be stuck with an overweight, overpaid stiff at the center position. However, if you can get Rahim w/o taking on Reeves and the conversation doesnt involve Hakeem which has been hinted at (spare parts like Cato/Walt/Rogers etc), then you still maintain the windfall.
