    My email to fran.blineburyatgmail.com:

    Mr. Blinebury:

Greetings! I enjoy reading your articles regarding all things basketball, for the most part. But I have to take issue with what clearly seems as a below-level of professionalism on your part. Do you really think a sentence like this reflects the professionalism one would expect from a writer at your level??

    Golly-gee-we're-gonna-conquer-the-world-as-soon-as-they-start-handing-out-trophies-for-what-you-do-on-paper routine,

I'm not sure what particular beer or issue you have with the Houston Rockets organization, but there is a clear vitriol and bias here that, quite frankly, is embarrassing to read from those of us who remember numerous wonderful articles from you, particularly between April and June of 1995. Unless you were present in the room and have full knowledge of every detail of their presentation, I believe your conjecture here is way off-base and unfortunately characterizes you as, how do they say it nowadays, a hata.

I and the rest of the Houston Rockets sports fans worldwide would sincerely appreciate it if you could bottle up your disdain for our team and present your opinions going forward in a much more professional manner.

    Respectfully,

If this was a done deal for the Rockets we would have thrown in the towel like LA. We aren't out of this yet. Sure the odds aren't in our favor but if he wants to play PF and have a C behind him... Look no further D. Howard is the answer LMA. We do have the pieces, I'm sure his question is what will be left after the trade. Thing is Portland has no power in this situation. Just a matter of salaries matching. We can make that happen.

Ok, now Blinebury's emailing me back:

I can only assume you’ve never written a resume for a columnist, because you clearly don’t know what one does. That is, offer opinions. Sorry you didn’t like mine.

    Have a nice day.

OK, Blinebury, allow me to retort:

Au contraire, Mr. Blinebury, I do indeed know what columnists do- I have composed resumes for several of them. The problem is that some opinions are reasoned, well-thought ones, and others are based upon hidden agendas and come across as sophomoric.

Exhibit A: The Beatles' early recordings were not as good as later work b/c the music was less complex and the lyrics covered a narrower range of topics.

Exhibit B: The Beatles are an overrated, no-talent band who were lucky people didn't know good music back in the 60s.

Mr. Blinebury, you do have a choice here. You can choose to state a well-supported, professional opinion that even a fan of a team can side with. Or, you can choose the I-am-going-to-try-to-be-cute-and-write-what-I-think-is-a-clever-phrase-to-insult-a-team-who-were-even-acknowledged-to-have-impressed-Mr. Aldridge-with-their-presentation-but-which-I-am-going-to-ignore-because-I-really-want-this-to-be-more-about-me-and-how-smart-I-think-I-am route. The Decision is yours.

    Hugs and kisses,

    D.D.

If you think Doc is troll it's far more likely that you yourself are one. He and popeye/oeilpere are the original legends on this site.

You guys already ran him off from posting his great stuff here. Now you gotta try to shut up his tweeting too?

This is why we can't have nice things.

I'm glad you're calling him out but I don't think it's going to stop his hate for Houston sports. Media just doesn't like us much.

Well said BT. I've been around for quite some time and Doc is the real deal, but a lot of the minions don't appreciate what he brings to us in here.

Oh, you don't do things like that to change people's minds. If anything, Francis will probably be even more of an ass towards the Rockets. You do it b/c you know you're right and you throw it out there so that people know we will not tolerate snide, insulting, uncalled-for commentary without saying something about it.

So San Antonio because of Leonard and Green, is that enough to win it all? Parker 33, Duncan 100, Manu has been terrible for the last two year. I doubt he views the Spurs as his best option. Moving Splitter is a no brainer regardless of LMA's chances of going to SA.

LMA doesn't want flabby low T Diaw, he wants Dwight ripping rebounds and taking the nasty shoves from the other teams bad guys. His broken thumb told him so.

Yeah right, I also said the Spurs weren't going to win last year. The mythos of the Spurs is going to go on for a while but Pop looks tired and Duncan is running out of gas. Amazingly, Leonard is underrated. I could see him going to the Spurs because of him but I leave that at 10% which gives them a 125% chance of going to the moon according to Doc Rocket.
