Of course I know why they are a great fit now, but will it be next year and the year after that? Spurs were/are A team built around Duncan....Pop has publicly said that when timmy hangs it up, he's out too. Pop is a big part of their talent evaluations...Not just RC. It's speculation of course, but I think the Rockets are the best fit now and long term....but i'm just a fan. Howard Harden and LMA could reign for 3-4 years easy. We will see

    http://www.libertyballers.com/2015/...agent-rumors-sixers-and-rockets-talking-trade

Philadelphia has had a very quiet start to day one of free agency, but there's a chance it picks up.

According to a source, the Houston Rockets have approached the Sixers about a possible salary dump in case free agent power forward LaMarcus Aldridge opts to sign with them. The Rockets feel that they aren't completely out of it yet, and want to have their ducks in a row just in case he opts to play in Houston.

Philadelphia has the cap space to take on enough players to create enough room for Aldridge, and one of the names tossed around includes power forward Terrence Jones. The Sixers would send back future draft pick considerations.

Aldridge is easily the biggest free agent left on the market, and has had meetings with several teams, including the Portland Trail Blazers, San Antonio Spurs, Los Angeles Lakers, Phoenix Suns, and will meet with the New York Knicks tomorrow.

Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowski reports that Houston has been in on Aldridge, but the Spurs are currently the frontrunner for his services.

It seems as though Aldridge will take all meetings before making a decision, so expect this to drag out for a couple more days.

exactly...BUT it was the same for Bosh. He was the PERFECT fit too and boated back to Miami. Being honest, he never wanted to leave south beach anyway. I think LMA truly wants out and I don't think ANYONE IN THE LEAGUE wants to see him here with a young Harden and Howard. The Rockets would run ramped through the West. Spurs yes, because things would level out once Duncan leaves....

I wonder what happens with Smith if we actually do get Aldridge. I also wonder what happens with Smith if we don't get Aldridge. With all these GM's throwing money at players like they are pimps in a strip club I am worried that he is going to get offered an 8 - 10 million a year multi-year contract from some idiot and we are shot. Hope Morey has some sort of Jedi mind trick controlling his mind.

I hate seeing all this Chandler talk in Phoenix…

    We have Dwight mother****ing Howard.

If there is a center LMA should want to line up next to every night, it's Dwight.

Oh, and we also have the best SG in the league too.

****, it's common sense from a basketball perspective. The fact that PHX keeps getting mentioned is annoying as ****. SA, I understand…but there should be no mention of the Suns, as they offer nothing over what the Rockets offer him…there is no kid there, no house, and not as good of a roster.

He's an UFA so its all up to Josh. He can chase money or rings. If he chases money then all that BS about wanting to stay here would be just that: BS.

That being said. Even with the splendid playoff performance Josh still has the stigma of being an idiot on the court and being a horrendous shooter. That doesn't change with a single playoff performance...

    Unless your name is Aminu.

Not sure if this has already been posted, as I haven't really been able to keep up with everything that's been happening because of work! Just saw this tweet - the first bit of information I have read on how the Rockets meeting with LMA went. Apologise if it has already been posted (which knowing this board - it probably has)

I agree. The entire Spurs team is almost done and that includes Popovich.

Not to mention the Rockets made it further than the Spurs did.

From a basketball sense at least in regards to competing next year and the years following, Rockets make the most sense. Plus he had issues with endorsements I believe in Portland, and the Spurs suck for that.

Morey did not learn his lesson did he? If we miss out on a PG because of this dumb chase, he is seriously under the spell of Leslie the Starlover.

What point guards are there to miss out on? Would love to hear this long list.

So which free agent point guard did you want him to sign? Which point guard could have helped us jump into Western conference favorites? $18 million a year Dragic who btw didn't want to be in Houston in February? Missing out on a Euro player that don't have the testicular fortitude to play in the NBA?

The lesson you haven't learned is that Morey has plans for everything. He's not infallible to missing on some of this targets but he always has a plan.

Not drafting a pg will hurt us. Even if we bring in LMA, without a pg our chances are fools gold. Smh

Which point guard would have made an immediate impact as a rookie? Tyus Jones? Jerian Grant? When was the last time a team won the championship with a rookie point guard?

A rookie PG would not be of much help this year anyway.

Grant and delon wright may have an immediate impact as rookies. Not that would be enough . Rj hunter also mayyy have an immediate impact asa shooter. But thats more remote in my opinion.

I think with three stars a rookie pg could have been ok. Or even just one star being really dominant and the rest of the roster being really good.

But I liked the rockets draft.
