How many times has this guy tugged our nuts only to walk away without finishing?

It's whatever... he has done everything he could do in Spain and he still isn't coming over. This makes me wonder if he truly believes in his self... I don't want a guy who isn't going to welcome the challenge of the NBA.

We would not be in this place holding out for this Spaniard when we had some of the best PGs lining up to sign with us.

Never ever trade his draft rights as was stated. Let him come over when he's 37 and ride the pine as a has-been. Better yet go get his backup and pair him with harden and make him an international star.

Why risk being exposed as just a mediocre player?

His trade rights ae worthless. Trading them as filler just sends the message "we are done with you".

Llull the bull **** PG who never will be a Houston Rocket.

    I'm honestly so sad.

I wish he came over this year.

    UGH.

    Meh, its understandable.
Its more of a home/culture issue. Easy to pack your bags up and move to another part of the country, way more difficult to move to a whole new country with different customs and a language barrier of sorts.
Also he's giving up fame, money, and the significance of his role to play in the NBA.

Look at what happened when V-Span rushed to sign here. He cried and went home.

Didn't Doc Rocket say that Llull waited for the Rockets?

This could be like last season with Lowry getting told to wait because Rockets wanted to chase Bosh and Melo first and then getting tired of it.

Rockets probably didn't guarantee him anything and he didn't want to be the loser's trophy.

I wonder if he's holding off until next summer so he can get a much better starting salary than the current MLE.

That's what I was thinking, but I heard he got a big deal from Real Madrid, so I think he was using us as leverage to negotiate.

Why do fans here have high expectations & disappointment from a mediocre PG playing overseas

    Woj:

17 / 3 = 5.6 per year. That's gross, don't know about how much taxes would he pay in Houston.

Opt out clause => Around 5M counting Rockets economic help. 5/3 = 1.6

If Real Madrid is raising his salary to 3 million NET €uros, then probably Llull is getting more money by staying at Real one more year.

Next year, opt out clause will decrease and MLE quantity it increases.
