Give Hakeem about 1 week with the Heat - before he gets hurt

Hakeem is dreaming if he thinks that his limited playing time has to do more with Rudy than with his own ailing body.

If he goes to the Heat, I'd give him about 1 week of 30+ minutes a night before his knee goes south on him again or he has another hernia. Then reality may set in with the guy.

Kareem is the exception. The dude practiced yoga consistently for years which is why he was able to stay healthy so long. Ditto Karl Malone who has one of the strongest fitness programs on the planet. You can't go back and reinvent yourself as an athlete at 38 years old. If your knees are gone, they're just GONE.

I'm with ya Axeman. It's only a matter of time until he goes on the IR again.

I agree, if Miami is at all thinking that Hakeem is their answer to a big man inside, then they are in for a big surprise.

And I don't understand what Hakeem's thinking is. Does he think that the offense will be going through him in Miami like it was in Houston 3 years ago? It's not going to happen, Hakeem. You won't have the energy, and I doubt that Riley will put up with a center whose shot gets blocked by the rim.

You will fade into the background even quicker in Miami, and no one there will give a damn. Your career will end sadly, and pathetically eventless...

But hey, if that is what you want, fine. Who knew that your judgment was so poor?

Hakeem is kidding himself and his 13 year old wife if he thinks he can still contribute night in and night out the rest of the season and beyond.

Man this thread is just cold-blooded, but it is the truth. Ask Ewing what it's like to force a trade from your home franchise, and then look like a beaten down, defeated old man in Seattle. It's coming Dream, see ya in Miami!

Never say anything like that in a forum where everyone can access it. We are trying to trade Hakeem and get something decent in return. Why f*ck it up. Learn from the mistakes of previous quitters.

A lot of the talk about Dream leaving is reminiscent of the things Utah fans were saying about Anderson when he decided to leave. In both cases, the fans have chastised their respective players for thinking they are better than they really are.

Remember when they recalled how much Utah had done for Anderson, who was picked in the second round. He was an ingrate for not showing loyalty to an organization that gave him his 'big break.' Likewise, Olajuwon is called an ingrate for not being loyal to an organization that was loyal to him by not trading him to Toronto.

Remember when Utah fans told Houston to have fun with our new 8 ppg SG. Likewise, we say Olajuwon gets blocked by the rim and has no game left.

Utah said Anderson wasn't worth the $4 million he wanted. Likewise, we say, for $16 million, Dream needs to shut up and play.

We told Utah it was sour grapes. Guess what Miami fans are saying.

That's a pretty strong argument and I agree. It's not going to go over too well though. People are going to jump out of the woodwork to post the subtlest of differences between the two situations that justify their feelings.

There is a BIG difference Dream and Shandon. Rocket fans are not blaming Dream for playoff losses like Utah did to Shandon. We're not disregarding Dream's career like Utah did to Shandon. Shandon didn't whine, beg, plead to get out of Utah like Dream is doing, and Shandon wasn't undercontract like Dream is. And Dream is injury prone, that's a fact.

No subtleties wong, there is a BIG difference! Nobody is trashing Dream's career or legacy, we're just tired of him whining and wanting out of Houston so badly. Let him go.
